really hope there's like a class action lawsuit against twitter by all these people and organizations who are being falsely represented on the website now.

Over 250+ fucking posts and people are still pretending Twitter verification was just some attention grab for fucking actors. That has to be news to all the other people and organizations that had (free) verification so that everyone knew the information coming from them was official and authentic. "Everyone should be able to buy a checkmark!" is missing the fucking point. Actors were like the least important people who were verified. And Joe Everyman with 27 followers doesn't need verification. No one is going to impersonate his 50 character NFL hot takes.

Asking why everyone shouldn't have verificaiton is like crying about how unfair it is that everyone doesn't get a security detail when they go out in public.

Yeah I played through 4 worlds in NSMBU and said "this isn't fun, fuck this." and popped Luigi's Mansion 3 in and had a blast. Combat is a bit iffy, but this game is just oozing with Nintendo charm and atmosphere.

The invention and improvement of the Internet made news and other information spread quickly, but Twitter has made it instantaneous. The blue checkmark allowed anyone with relevance, not just actors who annoy you with woke, to formally verify their identity so you knew the information coming from them was legitimate. That no longer exists. Now, the new Twitter Blue checkmark just means you paid for Twitter. Anyone can get a checkmark and they can claim to be whoever they want.

The issue has nothing to do with $84 being too expensive for rich celebrities, or their opinions mattering. Again, the site is one of the biggest in the world and those like you are still pretending it's nothing more than some Hollywood hugbox. Apparently anything can be ruined for no reason as long as celebrities you don't like are among the affected. Who cares if that information on a death or natural disaster response is bogus? C-list actors are triggered, so that's a win!

Walking down the video game aisle at Toys R Us during that gen was insane. Devs charged whatever they wanted for games. It wasn't standardized like it is today.

The pic is the main reason why anything above a 4x4 was banned. It's an ugly burger and In-N-Out is all about quality and having a 'smiling burger' aka if you flip the burger upside down, the cheese melt on the side of the patty is suppose to make the burger smile.

I think by then they had installed timers on all the grill since the grill in the pic has the bun clamp, it tells the cook when to turn the meat and when to pull it. It would be impossible to get raw patties in there, but because the burger will take forever to build and eat, the first patties will get cold and look pink unless they were burnt to begin with.

Oh I fully expect in 5 years when the other people will be able to make high quality AI, we will see that.

You aren't even listening. There used to be an actual verification system to confirm the identities of many popular and relevant accounts, not just celebrities posting hot takes, and it was free. The verification system has now been removed and replaced with a subscription fee that requires zero verification. Explain how that makes sense without mentioning constitutional rights or how much you want to smack the smugness off a celebrity's face.

Maybe video games should be bumped up to $120 so you can sit in your corner and laugh at how cheap and entitled people are.

In 1990 video games were the equivalent of $140 today. That's the base price for AAA SNES games. Some games were nearly $100 during that generation in that time's money.

Corporations have the right to charge whatever they want for their services. It's up to us, the consumer, to buy it or not.

Shrink in this context means theft. The warehouses aren't sending a bunch of expired product (to the tune of 10s on million a year). Also, as far as perishables go...a large chunk of them come on vendor trucks. A lot of product on the grocery side isn't handled by Walmart at all.

So the rumor come out, Switch successor will be out end of this year/early next year. Will be backwards compatible with Switch games, certain games like TotK/Splatoon 3/next Mario/Pokemon will get free graphics and performance patches on launch. I've actually been hearing these rumors of a backwards compatible successor for like 6 or 7 months. I think if it was coming within the next year, Nintendo's announcement window is coming to a close pretty soon, so we'll see what happens.
