from there download/run and it will detect your discord installation, install itself and reboot discord.

after opening discord you can go to settings and check out the plugins option under better discord

from there you select "open plugins folder", keep your downloads folder open.

then download plugins from https://betterdiscord.app/plugins

simply drag the plugins from your downloads folder into your plugins folder and enable them as you add them in the discord settings.

anyways if that's the case i don't often let myself get irritated at things, in particular online.

yeah, it definitely does not lend itself to in depth discussion. also if a conversation gets too lengthy it nests the rest under a prompt to view the entire discussion, which i think discourages users from engaging further.

i've been searching for support lately on different software stuff and i've found the upvoting system is pretty useful anyways. you don't get garbage replies that will be of no help at the top of the page often.

yeah i kind of would be freaked out to use lastpass given their history of data breaches.

bitwarden seems good though so i use it.

why or why not? do you have alternative methods of keeping passwords safe?

Theres rarely anything Im interested in for RSD, either gimmick stuff or re-releases of old records that usually arent hard to find

i do like going to browse if the store is having a sale on non-RSD stuff, but my local store wasnt this year

nah rsd is wack now. buying records in general is kinda wack. marked up prices and missing out on stuff because you didn't wake up early enough. i still buy stuff but it isn't fun anymore lol.

I still have fun preordering stuff when I'm looking forward to music that's coming up while supporting the artists I enjoy, but I admit the whole RSD thing sort of reeks of black friday energy lol.

I couldnt go in person because I was with the kids yesterday while my wife was out of town.

I think Beach House said it will be released digitally next week and then again physically in a couple months. I'll wait.

How is it though? I was a big fan of Once Twice Melody.

That's a good attitude. Also good to hear they're releasing it again and on streaming platforms soon. I would still like to have it in my digital library.

I haven't heard it yet as I ordered it today online through Rough Trade Records, so it just got fulfilled earlier today and I'm waiting for it in the mail.

Sorry to hear that. I am currently pretty low on my budgeted "fun" funds for this paycheck, but not completely broke.

Sorry to hear that. It looks like discogs doesn't have it at the moment for a reasonable price either. The cheapest one is like $56. I hate flippers.

Are flatpaks really that fundamentally different from snap though? (other than the obvious licensing thing)

I was happy just using .deb

i'm not sure of all of the technical differences but .deb files are actually optional for most software in the pop app store, there's a dropdown to select deb. you can still download them from websites and install them as needed as well.

what i do know is that flatpak is sandboxed so it's supposed to be more secure, similar to snap. that said, flatpaks have much less overhead compared to snap packages and run much better/require less resources so overall they're considered better.

Nothing on the list that I really wanted, plus I have a bunch of vinyl yet to play (one is the new TMR Vault Elephant mono release, so I wanna listen to the original stereo immediately before), stayed up until 4am watching the Coachella streams, going to an 11 day music fest in July and gonna buy a bunch if merch, etc etc etc, so I don't wanna tempt myself by heading out. Understandable. I decided when I started collecting I wouldn't go back too far for my collecting otherwise my spending would probably get way out of hand. There's just so much I'd want that aren't new releases it would be overwhelming, tbh.

I didn't end up going to wait in line or anything. I decided that because what I wanted would be available in the count of 8,000 that it would likely be available for purchase the day after RSD online. I was right, but it sold out almost immediately after I snagged a copy. I'm sure it's still available here and there though at local record stores.

Cheap maple is better than a cheap rosewood alternative.

Yeah one of the pulls for me is the humbucking pickups. I also am pretty interested in the versatility of a telecaster for different sounds. Your input on the cheap rosewood is noted haha. If I do go with this guitar I will likely go maple then.

Those Squier Teles are pretty cool. Id go with the black/maple fretboard one.

I have a US made Fender Tele w/ maple neck...been a fantastic guitar.

Played a few Squires, they're solid. Either should suite you well. Key is to play every day

Nice! Yeah I plan to put aside some time each day. I think this will actually be a positive addition to my life generally because I want a new hobby where I can really sense some kind of improvement over time.

Like as an example I recently picked up collecting/maintaining vinyl and while that's a nice hobby it doesn't really lend itself to challenging me in the least.

I would really encourage you to look used then. Get any practice amp on Craigslist / Facebook for $20, cord and strap tossed in with guitar, and $350 on a used guitar.

i'll have a look and see what comes up but i'm not sure i'll be tempted unless it's a stellar deal on something i can be confident is solid. i'm not making a purchase until next month so that will give me some time to do research on what i find. appreciate the advice.

these are both starter guitars, of the same brand (fender squier affinity telecaster deluxe). i've already settled on this guitar for what i'm going to get started with.

i previously had a yamaha pacifica but things came up in my life that prevented me from really giving it the time it deserved. as a result i can play just poorly at the moment.

if you have anything extra to chime in on differences between maple and indian laurel i'm open to hearing more.
