Nintendo has a pretty diverse array of tones that just doesnt suit Illumination normally. Other than the broader Mario universe and Pokmon the franchises really dont fit their style. Even a Zelda movie from them would seem weird.

on my current play though Ive had a weird glitch that makes any shalllow water fully transparent instead of murky, sometimes to the point where it looks like Im walking on nothing because theres no visible ground under the water

Ive played through the original at least 3 times, probably more, but its been some amount of years since I have. I dont remember the details of the original well enough to recognize all the changes.

I definitely miss some of the cheesiness, but also I like Ashley so much better here that I think it balances out.

Also you can sell any bonus weapons youve unlocked for extra cash and it doesnt count against you.

Its no bonus weapons, which probably means DLC, but definitely means the stuff you can unlock with completion points.

So I started up a second playthrough on MG+ on professional and it was great, just blasted dudes left and right having a lovely time

then I realized I need to start a totally a new file on professional to unlock a gun, so Ive done that

and wow going back to the unupgraded default pistol feels like shit! random dudes taking like five headshots to go down.

my first play through I was so obsessive about getting all the treasures and saving the gems to optimally put them in slots and stuff

and at the end I had like two dozen surplus gems. Even more treasure seems pretty unnecessary.

my mom got one of those once too. It was just some junk, I dont even remember what the actual item was

but it seems weird for one of those scams to be sending out something monthly for years like this.

as an actual crazy person, Ive barely sold any of my socket treasures so far out of fear that I wont have enough gems of the right colors to optimally fill in the finest treasures later on

ive just gotten to the bug zone and its great how many sapphires these dudes drop, allowing me to freely socket some treasure without worry

treasures are good because theyre money and money is weapon upgrades and weapon upgrades may mean needing less ammo to kill stuff in the first place

give me all the money possible

Its definitely only for specific situations, not when youre getting swarmed or something but if theres just a single dude you can pick off, its nice.
Ive only just gotten through the first castle chapter, so it might totally lose its usefulness at some point, but it was nice to have in the village.

also was nice for shooting some landbound crows on the first time through the el gigante arena

also i spent 3 gold coins on a charm and got a common. ;-; to add insult to injury, it was for extra bolt ammo. i've still never even bought that gun...

I really like the bolt thing. With limited knife usage, the bolts are like the only way to kill stuff without using any resource at all because you can just grab them off the corpse.

is it commonly accepted that Shadowbringers is the highlight of the game (at least pre-EW)? I really loved it. The way it made the Scions feel more like a standard FF party was great and really endeared me to all of them in a way I mostly wasnt before.

the scenes in the Source are pretty funny when you play as a Lalafell. its just three little people holding things together. And then occasionally a giant elven man shows up and has to have a serious conversation with three children.

also all the hanging out with the Scions made it click for me that they all (at least the ones in the first with you + Estinien) have grey/white hair. how odd.

and even FFXs characters are on a huge, world saving mission. The entire series is filled with people in very serious situations who also play card games or whatever.

if its a thing where leaving the bad game out would cause a conspicuous gap, then definitely put it in. Like dont just release a package of DMC 1 + 3, you gotta make it a trilogy.

but if youre doing another mass effect collection in ten years, youre allowed to leave off Andromeda

but but, Id generally be on the side of just throwing Andromeda or whatever in there too. As the purchaser of the compilation, its not like theres a downside to having more stuff. And for the game company its a pretty low cost way to increase the perceived value of the product.
