Fluttershy

arent the self heals in FF14 more flavour than anything?

i off-and-on keep an eye on the warriors who milk it for everything they can in endgame content because that shit is interesting to me -- if anything they end up being too powerful in context. incoming damage is actually the issue; healers heal really good and tanks have a lot of healing they can use, but they never need both, and it ends up that healers solo-heal eventually.

(also back whenever that was, drks and wars had roughly the same amount of actual throughput, it was just in different shapes -- war self heal used to be half of whatever the damage was you dealt, so this benefited from crits, and that made for spikes; drks are shield healers and have nice discipline priest-like plateaus everywhere)

In WoW you could pull off some crazy feats of soloing as either a DK through mad self-heals

i tanked a fuckin shark once

A healer in a party with a tank is more or less a green DPS or at worst there to babysit the red DPS because a tank's self-healing is that good

i've always been under the impression that the best thing a tank can do for team dps is keep the healers bored.

i was just messing with you. gunbreaker bothers me because the weapons are so tiny and they could totally have a shield and they don't because trying to look cool.

drk is neat. self-heals right up there with war, which is why i like war, it reminds me of brewmaster monk from WoW.

REALLY DEDICATED PEOPLE would just make new alts. The solution is stronger entry requirements

all-caps level dedication wouldn't be swayed by any height of entry requirement, so, nah, you're wrong about that too.

users should have the ability to block because of any bad thing it might prevent, no matter how rare. right? again, your logic. answer me, it's sad how hard you want to dodge this.

if you make a topic on super mario galaxy, i could make a new topic on the game and falsely claim you blocked me when I blocked you instead.

just because people are going to throw tantrums in response to your system doesn't mean you drop the system -- you don't let the threat of them being huge whiners about it deter you from giving people a means to mute bad faith actors.

what kinds of bad stuff?

the rare kind. i don't do effort checks from people who argue in poor faith. again, by your logic, something needs to be there in the rare instance something happens -- you stumbled into undermining your own argument, here.

bad stuff, even if it's really rare. you have to give users that tool to defend themselves, by your logic.

is it not spamming?

it objectively isn't, because there's a good reason for multiple topics in that situation.

doesnt matter how rare it is, the point is it can happen.

so can a ton of things that blocking would prevent.

so we dont need a block button to make users unable to view your posts

yes we do, because the ignore button doesn't do that. manpointingathead.jpeg

encourages trolls to block people who call them out

that's less shitposts for them to have to see, so, that's a positive. are we thinking before we post?

also, all of that is worth the ability to mute shitposters. the one positive that you absolutely dodge mentioning is that it gives users control as to whether or not they have to read posts, and it's because everyone would have to deal with your shitposting if they did.

dark souls 1 -- for its invasion system.

it's legitimately unpredictable, and that's a big deal in a video game. it isn't the illusion of unpredictable like rng may offer, either; you absolutely never know what you're going to get when you invade in ds1. i think when you can accomplish something like that it becomes less of just a game and more of a playspace.

im saying that its barely any effort enough that it makes no difference anyways.

nobody asked. and it's still more for them.

hey, can people you have blocked still post? i missed that part. can they? huh? huh?

ironically, if someone blocks you, makes a post that violates the TOS and you see it while logged out, it would take you more effort to make other people report it than it would be for someone to log out.

yeah, that's not ironic at all. it sounds like you do a bit of begging to get others to report posts because nobody does that. what's wrong with you?
