there being ways around the system doesn't mean the system is wrong to exist. people should be able to block posts they don't want to read and not every poster deserves the attention they're desperate for. it's easier to block someone than it is to get around it; it lets the blocker force the attention-desperate to jump through hoops. it works.

it's not meant to be, or at least, it wasn't meant to be.

in dark souls 1 the infinite-use invasion item was locked behind a pretty notable knowledge gate -- you can get it before you do much of anything else if you know how. but you have to beat one of the harder bosses in the game first. this meant it basically positioned you to invade players that wouldn't have the same kind of experience or skill.

it's a lot more fair in elden ring because you can't invade solo players unless they actually go out of their way and drag you in. that said, it doesn't help much against someone who has been dealing with ganks for as long as i have.

i miss invasions. Elden Ring ruined it.

it's definitely more of an uphill battle but i feel like since i have things like endure and bhs i don't have any excuses. also, a frigging cannon. also, the teleport item.

you have a lot of access to surprise damage in elden ring. everyone does. and if you're willing to swap talismans in and out you suddenly have a lot more room to play with; you get tools that help you keep your resources while a host and his buddies are spending theirs.

eh, there's some formula. in original dark souls you could invade infinitely upward, and it was awesome.
