I think WWTW is overall a great epsiode but it does bug me how the Prime Directive is apparently important enough to excuse negligent homicide, but at the same time lax enough to allow setting up that ticking time bomb of cultural contamination with the hidden mountain base.

I think TPD is doomed to always be at least partially subverted because to play it straight would mean that a story never happens. Just say "sorry, non-interference policy g2g" and forget about it lol

The prime directive is kind of a moral abomination, isn't it?

I tend to dislike most "prime directive" situations for precisely this. Granted the moral of the story does usually end up being "ignoring a problem in the name of the letter of the law is bad" but the fact that these seemingly reasonable and moral people have to work so hard to get to that point is frustrating to watch lol

Yeah that epsiode is the one that sold me on TNG entirely. Absolutley love it.

I tend to be a bit forgiving on Pulaski's rudeness to Data. Her skepticism rarely seems unreasonable from the perspective of a relative outsider coming onto a ship and meeting the (as far as most are aware) first and only "true" artifical intelligence/lifeform. She's fills an antagonistic role that prompts further exploration of Data's self. (and also perhaps because she just comes off better when compared to later characters that fill similar roles)

As a viewer I'm fully ready to accept that the robot has a soul or whatever. But in the context of the setting I appreciate Pulaski representing a lot of the hurdles an artificial lifeform would face, if only because we're beginning to see some absolute crazy advances in AI these days and that these same questions are probably going to need to be asked in the next hundred years or so >_>

Season 2 gets an unfairly bad rap imo. Has its share of stinkers but overall is pretty solid.

...though I am looking forward to OPs opinion of a certain...less than sensitive episode towards the end of the season. >_>

Lol this was one of the first episodes of TNG I watched and it nearly single-handedly put me off the series. Just a really weird, skeevy episode.

Lwaxana is lowkey one of my favorite characters. The show gets so much mileage out of the cast's reactions to her.

Im a newer fan and never understood what was supposed to be bad about Wesley. The show lays him on kinda thick in season 1, but season 1 overall is in this really weird limbo of being stuck in old TOS writing sensibilities while trying to evolve into something contemporary. He's hardly the worst thing about that season >_>

I have like, *ten* cards that can grab Kairyushin if I dont hard draw him. And in a six turn duel, after going + 4 from Maxx C, I drew none of them.

Still somehow managed to bullshit a win and out-negate Drytron with a meager board of Toad, Jellyfish, and Sea Stealth Attack.

Probably not surprisingly, this was an anime card. In story it makes for a dramatic final stand sort of situation. In game...I use this as a funny joke in some of my mission decks just to finish the game faster. >_>

Huh. I totally forgot about that sudden epilogue lol. Honestly I feel like Jojolion had a lot of very high highs but the ultimate payoff for the story hooks kinda came unstrung. Idk if Araki sort of wrote so many pieces he found himself out of his depth, or if he had to rush an ending for whatever reason. Hoping JoJo Lands redeems the ending of Part 8 a bit because I liked a lot of what it was doing.

Finished reading Superman's Warworld saga. Overall, really good. I feel like I need to read more stuff with Manchester Black. So far besides this I've only seen him in vs The Elite and one of the earlier Rebirth arcs, but he's an extremely fun character.

So just watched a Cardian player burn through their entire deck. Did a few sets of squats, push-ups, and sit-ups and finished just in time to see them finish their turn.

The Sea Stealth Attacks are so good. I mean Kairyushin is still jank as hell but when it works it's vicious. The fact that you get a pseudo-boardwipe as a game rule that they can't chain to is nuts. Then this guy resolved Fairy Tail Snow like...five times and I guess they thought Sea Stealth's deathtouch effect was once per turn but nope. >_> And Sea Stealth 2's targeting protection meant he couldn't Book my monsters with Snow lol.

Started practicing Marincess in solo.Kinda hard to wrap my head around its playstyle but it's fun. Using Small World as a Cynet Mining fill-in since I have no more gems for the Salad structure

Apparently the Reg Duel has fewer gems than normal, and no missions.

Saw someone positing that this may be Konami experimenting with semi-permanent alternative formats and that we could still be due for a festival later in the month.

Sounds too optimistic but I would love it if it were true, if only because this game desperately needs more content than a monthly festival and a new solo gate every blue moon. >_>

All I know of Mermails is from the solo gate, and I noticed they got the traditional Konami "fuck you in particular" brand of legacy support with their Link monster, since some key monsters get effects when discarded but the link specifically "sends from your hand to the graveyard" lo

Also there's a random Harpies Pet Dragon retrain I didn't even know existed. Fucking sweet bout to tweak my Harpie deck to run Rank 7s again. Will probably be able to use that legacy packGalaxy Tomahawk I've been sitting on but never had any reason to actually play >___>

Two great matches. One was my Branded Tribrigade vs Despia, and the other was Exosisters vs Unchained Live Twins. Both games went on for like 6 turns and had us trading interactions constantly.

Also some random Bird-Up player screwed up their combo and scooped after messing around for three minutes lol.

But the fact that the next major content update also works for an Attribute gimmick and that the Sync/Xyz fest sort of came out of nowhere...the idea that the Link festival keeps getting upstaged is funny to me. >_>

Blue-Eyes has been a surprisingly dangerous deck ever since Jet and Dictator released. Going against them used to be an auto-win but now they can actually scrape up some victories.

Saw some people musing that the next event might be Single Attribute rather than Link. Would be a fun change of pace since everything the majority of events have been ED focused till now. Would love an excuse to troll with Harpies. >_>

F0 is only an SR, and you only need one copy of UDF. Maybe craft F0, do one 10-pull of the pack just in case you pull the one copy you need, and if you don't it can just be crafting material.

But I'd say UDF is definitely a good investment if you run any Xyz decks. It's like 50 percent of the reason my Exosister deck is even playable right now, lol. (The other 50% is my opponents' illiteracy)

About 5 days, yeah. There's also going to be maintenance today, so hopefully we'll get some good datamine leaks around the same time.

The more I look over the water pack, the more trouble I have deciding if I want to go for Marincess or Kairyushin. I have enough waifu decks as it is, so building something with giant sea monsters would be a fun change of pace. The boss monster being a super Gozen on legs is interesting.

It's kinda funny that the card was designed as an omni-searcher for grind games but effectively is just "Foolish Burial but it banishes" lol

Ended my turn 1 board with Baronne, 4 Mat Apollousa, both pendulumgraphs, and PurplePoison on a scale for that second pop. And to top it all off I also dropped D-shifter near the end.

I feel like I coulda done more but I didn't wanna waste time lol. Probably coulda pivoted the combo, sacrificed one or two mats on Apollo to get out Titanic Galaxy for an extra spell negate and battle protection.

Why is it every time I get matched against a Blackwing player, they open two of those searcher continuous spells? AND Ash and Maxx C? I had to settle on "Bagooska pass" and they still got their 3000 atk unaffected monster lol.

Did win though and it was hella exciting. Managed to play through their other interruptions and combo out a board that cleared their field with only 400 lifepoints left.

Their biggest misplay was killing Bagooska, funny enough. On their turn they took control of it and used it to attack, then blew it up at the end phase. Had they kept it in defense I don't think I coulda played through it enough to make a comeback.

PendMages is a dream with 2 Double Iris. Being able to guarantee both Pendulumgraph cards so I don't have to choose between consistency and disruption feels amazing. Third Harmonizing also helps.

Halq ban I'm surprisingly not feeling too much. My Sky Striker deck is getting by with Charmers for the Accesscode line, PendMages loses its 1-card Scythe Lock but I'm not even a huge fan of that build and just altered the one I had to use Verte/DPE instead. I guess Zombies is effectively dead, but I only ever used it for casual games anyway lol.

Adventurer Engine, not sure yet. The only deck I was still using it in was Harpies but it's been a while since I dusted them off. Replacing the second Enchantress with Foolish will probably get the job done just as fine.

Also, randomly, the Gozen semi-limit technically hit my Exosister deck, but I had cut it down to two a while ago anyway because 3 felt a little too cloggy lol.

Ran into a Swordsoul player who tech'd in Resonators. Interesting idea that almost worked out for them, I guess. I negated the Chix search, they didn't have Long already in hand so they just normaled a level 2 and went into Baronne lol. Next turn they were about to tag Baronne out to bring Chix back, luckily I had Called. >_>

Got a free pull from some secret pack I've never heard of. It gave me the Melodious boss monster.

...looks like I'm building Melodious for Casual mode. Can probably put together something cheeky even without their UR "fusion with materials from the deck" card. If nothing else, Aria + Elegy is funny when your opponent's unprepared for it. >_>

Added D Shifter to Exosisters, proceeded to bully the hell out of a dinosaur player. (Turns out the nuns have a very good matchup when all your big dick plays make you banish stuff from your graveyard)

Also flipped Gozen when they activated Big Evolution Pill. I feel so scummy >__> Really looking forward to their support, though it looks like it'll still be a good long while before it gets here

Pendulum Mirror Match baby! Ahhhhhhh!

Sort of. I was running Odd-Eyes, they were running Mages. But gosh, they went first and I thought I was screwed. SCREWED! But!

Okay so their turn 1 they managed to set up 3 mat Appolousa and a Pendulumgraph trap with two pops. I don't think I can get over this, but the heart of the cards gave me Spiral Flame Strike as my first draw!

I activate OG Odd-Eyes in a scale to proc Flame Strike's destruction and kill Appolousa. After this my comeback is live. I then summon Joker to fetch and activate Arc Pendulum Dragon as my second scale, and they take the bait! They activate the trap and pop both of my scales. But, by activating their trap, they activated my trap. Because I had also opened ASTROGRAPH SORCERER! Shit!

Astrograph summons himself and fetches me another Arc Pendulum Dragon. I set two scales, Odd-Eyes Phantom and Arc Pendulum Dragon. Joker and Astrograph on field. Opponent is out of disruption. The pendulum is swinging in my favor wheennnnnnnnnnnnnn

Dove into Casual with Odd-Eyes. First time playing against Dinomorphia, and boy are they annoying lol. They literally have a Solemn Judgment searcher what the fuck. Also, their fusion is cute. >_>

But they were greedy and shotgunned their traps. I had saved Harmonizing Magician for last and was fully expecting to get fucked by...something since they still had two set traps left over, but they didn't have an answer and then scooped after I summoned Supreme King Clear Wing. If your deck's gimmick is to go down to like, 12 life points you should probably not leave any monsters in attack position that lose to almost any other deck's normal summon.

Also unrelated but their name was , which translated is "Milk Uyu". And Uyu is Korean for milk. so....their name was "Milk Milk". Guess they like milk lol
