Match 1 was surprisingly close for me. PttF is basically the track (along with Electric Power Building, Earth Painting, and Rhythm of Red) that I use to reset my mood if I'm in a funk and need to move forward with life things, and I'm a massive fan of it, so the /outcome/ is not a huge surprise. Southern Twilight's been in my rotation since Supra posted it to his list, but I didn't realize I felt it was /this/ good. Dance on the Cape of Goo is a very fun ending to it (although I'm more of a fan of Southern Twilight by decent measure, despite some fun Spanish guitar-piano-flute interplay).

I don't have particular logical reason to think that there's anything- on the "bright" side, though, I think dying's a lot more sad for the people left behind than the person who's dead. I do think it's pretty logical to think that, in the absence of anything else, "ceasing to exist" precludes "caring about <x situation>".

Sometimes I really do wish I believed there were something though. Existence being finite is pretty disturbing for some reason that I can't fully explain (a fundamental drive to keep from dying, maybe?).

This is going to be a hit to my compatibility with most people, I'm sure- Supper Woods is the better track generally, but Atolm Dragon is the better VGM for me. Driving, wondrous background tune is everything I want, and it delivers so well. I'm a sucker for the instruments, too.

I may also be influenced by having played Supper Woods a bunch on loop when I first heard it, idk.

The first match is really rough. I'm sorry, Koshiro-san, but Dreams in a Pie is both really sweet and really catchy.

Shopping District is fun! Secret of the Forest is one of the best tracks I've ever heard for setting an atmosphere, though, (and that bass-line!) My second-favorite from Chrono Trigger (after Corridors of Time).

Kaze no Ne deserves to move past this round, but Mechonis Field is such a sick track. It's got good progression without it being too noticable on repeat, and there are a handful of parts that really tug at me (I've mentioned the biggest one in a previous comment; not gonna hunt down the timestamp right now)
