Id love to be able to say yes but, probably not? Its the most accessible of all the games for sure - more explanations and tutorials, plus if you get stuck you can just go somewhere else for a while.

but its still very much a Souls game.

I realise I'm getting into some niche Twitter beef hook line and sinker but what exactly is there to educate people about? This kind of tone always reminds of the people berating Lindsay Ellis about her Raya take. Just this odd self-righteous but at the same time disingenuous finger-wagging.

Is that Aloy talks to herself WAY too damn much. I like Aloy. I like the voice work, but shes just constantly chattering to herself. Thats also not that bad on its own but they do it in the most annoying way possible.

Two examples:

1 - I was in a cave. There were two paths. One way was just a bottomless pit. The other was clearly the way to go. Does the game let me take two seconds to figure that out? No. Aloy immediately chimes in with: Guess Im not going that way!

2 - Similar example. I had to hitch a ride over a wall. The thing I was riding would eventually go past a force field, so I had to jump off before I hit it. Pretty simple. In fact, not two minutes ago the game showed me first hand how those shields work, when I had to push something through but then walk around it because Aloy couldnt get through. But the game STILL doesnt trust me to make the connection. The whole time I was riding the thing, ready to drop off at the right time, I was looking at the force field and I said to myself, I bet you ten bucks Aloy is going to tell me I need to drop here.

sure enough - Oh, looks like this is the end of the line, time to get off.

yooooo Horizon baby I love you but sometimes youre too much.

What exactly do people want when they say this? I don't think black people want others to do a hail mary and pay their respects to black culture everytime something plays on the radio

an interesting discussion on how the dominant culture scavenges what it likes from others while also oppressing those cultures and treating them like dirt. Among other interesting discussions to be had.

Hot tips for young players: terrain bonuses to your attack work when your piece moves FROM the terrain type as part of its attack. So even if it doesn't end on that terrain type, as long as its attack starts there you get the bonus. For example certain ram units get +2 attack from hills, so if you move to attack from a hill terrain, but the piece has to charge a few spaces before it hits an opponent's piece, try to do it from the hill instead of the grassland or whatever.

Also, you can knock back enemy units into other units for slightly extra damage.

is it complicated

It kind of... is? But also isn't. There are a lot of components to it but the gist of the game is super simple. You move your robot figurines around the board and attack. But there are different types of robots, different types of terrains, you can attack from different sides to get bonus damage against weak points etc.
