Invisible assassin gave me a weird feeling and I'm not sure if I loved it or hated it.

Space moose is surely up there. So are Astel, the assassin in the Ranni area gaol, the gargoyles (except for the poison attack), and patches for the humor value.

All of the xs games had inconsistent pacing, and the bad parts of xs3 were almost as bad as the worst of xs2. The tutorial is especially awful. They also went the route of "fill in the important plot with long encyclopedia entries in-game" which is never great.

All that said, i think the highs of the story are still pretty high, and given what they had to work with they could have done a lot worse!

This happened to me too. I forget where i found the 7 eventually, but it was pretty frustrating.

I finally beat Maliketh. Sure, I did just about everything else in the game that I possibly could, with the exception of the real volcano manor because i can't be bothered to go back to an early game area that I missed entirely, and I might have been level 150 with a rune arc active, but at least he's finally dead.

I was actually able to semi-map them out using rainbow stones. Placed them before confirmed dead ends so eventually I was no longer lost.

So I like that it gave me my one and only use for glowing stones in the series, but yeah the first time going through the sewers is dreadful.

You don't use them for invisible floors or large drops?

I think I'll get Kirby after i beat my first play through of elden ring in a month

The fact he didn't disclose it, and didn't recuse himself from the case regarding releasing Jan 6 documents is reason enough to remove him from the supreme court. But at this point, the Senate wouldn't convict him if he shot someone on live television and bragged about receiving money from a corporation to decide how he'd vote on a case. Our supreme court is nothing more than a joke at this point. Our whole country is a circus of Ringmaster McConnell's making.

Basically, Thomas has been paid under the table and not disclosed it. If we can't get rid of him and he won't get rid of himself, then our only way to combat this corruption is to install justices who aren't corrupt.

I'd so much rather let individuals play how they want with their build AND give them accessibility options. Something like celeste where players can slow the game down slightly would not detract from the enjoyment of other players.

Though honestly my least favorite thing about the fight is how it starts. You literally start on a tiny platform and cannot move to the left or right or you'll fall to your death, and he starts the fight by running straight at you 90% of the time.

So if you have ANY prep stuff you wanted to do at the start of the fight, well good luck LOL.

His second phase is bewildering to me. There's no good openings, he has huge range and is super fast, and does insane damage. What am I missing?

I just lost 40,000 runes. Where I'm at level wise that's enough to level twice. Fucking Fort Faroth. Giant rat. Died once to him with like 32k. Made it back to him, got that back, died to him again, then died to the weird poison bats at the beginning on my third time back. What really sucks is you can just run past those guys. Realized that after on my next attempt (which was just to kill him and get revenge for no reason other than being a salty bitch).

At least I've heard there's farming spots later where 40k isn't too hard to get. But please tell me rune loss horror stories so I don't feel like shit thanks

The bell towers are genius, I really wish there was a multiplayer focused area like that in ER. That's definitely the biggest negative right now - the game doesn't have much multiplayer itself, but it still pulled people away from the previous games. So there's a bit of a multiplayer void.

I have started to get blue ring summons recently though which is great. I just miss having 5 summons from 3 different factions all duking it out like mad.

Agreed. I've had a few blue ring summons, but nothing has captured the multiplayer high of the bell towers in ds2.

I kind of like going to where the shopkeeps are. They're more homely than the old ladies

Might be recency bias, but Elden Ring is easily the most refined and approachable. As much as I love Demon's, DS3, and Bloodborne, Elden Ring got my vote.

Ds2 is easily the best of 1-3. No questions asked. I'd argue that it's the closest thing to elden ring, before elden ring!

It's just that it doesn't hold a candle to bloodborne.

Not done with Elden Ring yet but this very well may be it. Bloodborne is probably still in the conversation just because it plays differently enough (mostly due to trick weapons, rally, quickstep and gun parry) and is much compact with incredible atmosphere and themes for a nice shot-in-the-arm type experience so it may appeal more to some folks in that way.

Elden Ring is truly ridiculous in (amazingly) both scope and craftsmanship though and unless it completely shits the bed in the final stretch I wouldn't hesitate at all to call it an honest to god masterpiece and one of the best games ever made.

Trick weapons in particular is why bloodborne still holds the edge for me. I can see why people who prefer mage builds aren't into it, but the character that each weapon has really butters my biscuit.

I think it's only one boss. A lot of bosses and enemies have light quick attacks in between big attacks, in which case a quick guard is useful.

The animation for putting up your shield is much quicker than the animation to dodge!

Okay, one feather in Elden Ring's cap compared to BotW - actually having a NG+. I'm two hours in and it's so much fun to just cut straight to the meat (though I suppose this wouldn't be as fun in Zelda, since leisurely exploration was a much bigger deal for that game imo).

But how do i use the telescope to place a marker on the map :(

Went back and found the cave next to the radahn fight. Kind of glad i didn't do it right away, the basic mobs would have wrecked me.

That boss though? I understand why they need to level up the boss stats but it is really frustrating that the reskins are so much stronger than the base models. The room is barely big enough to identify when he's doing to do the grab attack, which is an instant ko for me. Fun.

Yep! The elevator is completely optional. Just like Mac, I stumbled on the other way up long before doing the Academy or finding the "proper" way up.

Wild. Looking at the map I can thing of one other place it could connect to... and I think there was a cave somewhere that led up because I remember finding the top of it and all the I did it signs. Never could find the start of that cave, though!
