It was unnerving to say the least, but they werent mean about it. Just very certain I was this guy based on absolutely nothing. I got stopped while walking twice in 2 weeks while playing pokemon go >_>. The 2nd time was justified by circumstance and timing. They were looking for someone and I was in the area and it was after dark. Was cleared up easily enough. Inconvenient but they absolutely had to do what they had to do. 1st time was dumb though. Some pearl clutching concerned citizen at a CVS thought I was "messing with a random parked car" because I had been standing on the sidewalk near parked cars while having stopped to catch pokemon for like 1-2 minutes. It was broad daylight in the center of town on a friday in late spring when there were over 100 witnesses in eyesight of me, so I dunno what some actual criminal in my position would have thought they could get away with. In both cases, I told the cops everything they could possible not want to know about pokemon go just to be passive aggressive. In general they are pretty chill here. Probably 99% of PDs across the country should be more like the ones here tbh. --- Always check timestamps... |

I've even fallen off my bike a few times trying to ride home from a friend's place. But I've always walked away with just scrapes and bruises. my closest calls were jumping down a short flight of stairs (like 3/4 of a normal flight of stairs roughly) and landed with one foot completely sideways. Like, I felt the ankle bone hit the floor. Pain shot up my whole leg and I saw a bright white flash for a split second. Nothing. Completely fine. Could still put full weight on it. Slight soreness and swelling the next day but not even enough to cause a limp jumped out of my buddy's jeep when he pulled up in my parking lot like 30 feet early. I just went to jump out because he had mostly stopped, but as I was doing so, he hit the gas to pull up closer to my door which I didn't expect. I was already mid jump so I would guess he was going maybe 15 mph so not fast but I was off balance and startled. I remember seeing the pavement below me and time slowed down. I thought "don't try to land. Just immediately tumble forward, take the forward momentum and hope for the best." I did exactly that, forward rolled over my shoulder. Ended up on hands and knees. Only scraped hands slightly, banged one knee and scraped it up good, but enough to rip pants. Had some minor bruising and the scrapes took a while to heal, but otherwise it was fine. I assume it was my right knee. Shut my thumb in a car door (as in door was fully shut and thumb was stuck in it. It was on the top side of it though so the rubbery part just kinda compressed around it. Scared the shit outta me but nothing else beyond that. My worst injuries were all fluke sober ones somehow. --- Always check timestamps... |

Still couldn't get it up to local place quality. I usually didn't have to pay for it though and there were a lot of outside the box options/combinations (including covered pies using 2 thin crusts. I made a really good popper-like pizza. Thin crust, ranch cup sauce base, banana peppers and jalapenos, little bit of pizza cheese, lots of cheddar, another thin crust as cover, a little bit of butter oil, more cheese mix on top) the red sauces and cheeses could use more flavor imo (especially the feta. I had to load it up to taste it) and I like the flatter, chewier dough at local places that uses more flour and less cornmeal when being stretched. --- Always check timestamps... |
