Started season 3, and holy shit, am I right or are the Russians going to be the main antagonists and are going to fuck over the main characters because Nancy wanted to throw her temper tantrum and fuck over the scientists there that were actually doing good(unlike their S1 counterparts)?

Sure, but good luck of convincing the public that they should care about the rights of people convicted of heinous crimes. Especially if they have ever been victims of those crimes. It's already hard enough to get a job with a criminal record.

I think people also aren't really concerned with how prisoners are treated, which I guess is fair to a degree, i'm not really gonna go to bat for the civil liberties of someone convicted of rape or murder but as a minority I already know how it starts.

Ngl Will is also just not that interesting. He's been around for 4 seasons and he plays a glorified damsel in distress who's only use to the group is telling people when he's got the itch. He's still stuck mentally as a kid who wanted to play D&D all the time in Mike's basement while everyone else around him has grown up

And the US prison system isn't one designed around preventing future crimes but instead extreme punishments and profiting off of the inmates (see also: 13th amendment and legal slavery). Also, funny that nobody has even mentioned once that the inmates may have family members who would take care of the child while the birth-giver finishes their sentence. :l

It's weird no one ever suggests male prison guards should get vasectomies before working in women's prisons, even though they "cause" way more pregnancies. I wonder why?

because the job isn't their life, and there are other solutions like y'know, not having sex with inmates in general, or assigning female officers instead of males. I assume the 2nd one isn't done more because of staffing issues but I could be wrong.

in the script at the school dance Will is supposed to look longingly at Mike, while he's awkwardly dancing with the girl

they also went for the most queer coded interpretation when they made Mike say "It's not my fault you don't like girls"

probably but theres arguments for both sides. For example, inmates shouldn't be getting pregnant in prison and suggests something very wrong with that area if it happens.
On the other hand, if it does happen the state/private owner should be prepared for it. Having a baby shouldn't be a way to get out of a prison sentence but babies are babies and they require their mother

its kind of funny because he was denying it before, and the rest of the cast were basically like "No, he's gay". I mean Stevie Wonder could have saw that coming.

Little bit sad at how much Will suffers though in the series, kidnapped, bad haircut, controlled, his friends leaving him behind, Mike being in love with someone else and presumably not gay.. he has to get a win in season 5.

Some inmate mailed one of my prosecutors a sample of the mold from the womens county jail and complained about some other stuff. NJ has also been sued for CO's beating up and abusing inmates. Now they might be convicts but they're still human. My uncle was in prison for a while too and whenever I went to visit the conditions didn't seem too great either. Young Adult prison though is kind of bad since everyone there is in there for some serious shit and coupled with the typical lackadaisical attitude they have, I fear for her safety and wish there was something else that could be done.

for the most part i think they just get taken by the state and put into foster homes. Don't quote me on that though

upon googling, most states allow them to stay with the mom for around 18 months and then they have to be given to either family/friend or to the state

i believe it too shock, i hear a lot of complaints about conditions and correctional officer abuse. It's really quite sad and she didn't deserve that treatment and going to the GSYCF is pretty much a death sentence. A lot of bad dudes up in there who are young and don't care about anything. Maybe her attorney can file a change of custody motion
