This would be prohibitively expensive, and often very very hard to do (some equipment can be in the hands of one or two labs in the world).

Almost all research that gets done right now is a dead end being looked into for no reason "just in case". It wouldn't be that difficult to start looking into repeat studies for most things whenever a breakthrough is established.

If we can do a thousand studies on the effects of sugar consumption, it's absolutely appalling that the root cause of Alzheimer's was established by a single study.

Having independent studies replicate your results should be required before a study is taken seriously. Its a blatant gap in the current scientific review process and it's just going to get worse. There is so much research out there right now that things quickly turn into a game of telephone.

It looks fine. Certainly no worse than any other LotR fanfic stories (Shadow of War/Mordor come to mind as just shamelessly awful).

I might give it a look if word of mouth is good. Visually it looks a lot more impressive than I expected. The dwarves remind me of the first time I saw the Hobbit dwarf designs and got really excited before the actual movies crashed and burned.

I enjoyed it. Not amazing but it had some fun moments.

I think it's unfortunately becoming clear that Feige letting directors do too much of their own thing isn't working super great. Definitely let 'em bring some personality but Eternals, Strange 2, and Thor 4 all kinda show that somethings not working.

I don't necessarily think it's a bad move, but it's going to result in films that arent hitting that 90+ RT rating. The MCU has pretty much perfected the modern blockbuster, so any deviation from that is expected to lead to more divisive films. But you're also going to get films that are some people's absolute jam, and it may eventually lead to giving mainstream audiences something they were craving but didn't know they wanted.

While Strange 2 wasn't personally my thing, I know a lot of people dug it. I think Thor 4 is gonna be similar.

I'm more concerned about the TV shows, which it seems are expected to do a lot of the heavy lifting now as far as introducing new characters to. None of them feel like more than your standard made for TV superhero fare. I think it hurts the brand and is a turn off for casuals.

Wandavision and Loki had the advantage of coming out during COVID and got a lot of attention. But Ms Marvel is apparently doing poorly in terms of views, and I wonder if that's going to affect the quality or reception for the Marvels or the rumoured Young Avengers.

Again China is super super big, so probably in some locations but not usually.

The individual cuisine for each province is a big point of pride.

I actually want to amend this post slightly. There are lots of instances of people treating droids like shit. Characters treating droids with affection and respect is usually used as an indication that the character is meant to be extremely empathetic and caring (Like/Anakin/Padme/Leia/Rey). But in that sense droids are treated more like animals or pets than a race, which is clearly what the scene in the bar is alluding to.

I think the bar scene is to some extent an attempt to seem woke in an otherwise ultrawhite film (our protagonists treat the droids well even if others don't), it's just a little maclunky.

I liked her, but she's probably overstayed her welcome at this point.

Kenobi needed some other character to bounce off as a secondary protagonist. The Fake Jedi would have actually been interesting, as a way for Kenobi to see how the legacy of Jedi lives on in a warped way.

I was actually expecting a lot more Hayden since he was advertised so heavily but they've held back and so he hasn't really interacted with Kenobi much at all.

I think there's definitely worth while discussions to be bad about the messages pushed by mainstream Hollywood films (torture good, cops good, both sides racism, etc).

But this probably isn't the right context to approach it.
