Fusion Destiny to 2 will probably be a good move if Destiny Phoenix Enforcer comes out soon, but that's gonna need big hit to Verte too or that card's gonna warp the Master Duel metagame just like the current TCG metagame, which honestly looks even worse than what Master Duel has

I actually bought this about a week ago, but was already at least somewhat familiar with it from having watched a few streamers play it before.

Made it to 30 minutes on all of the four main stages. Haven't played around with Curse, Hyper Mode, or other non-default stuff yet. I'm having fun grinding through the unlocks and accumulating gold before I start worrying about things like that.

I am absolutely in that same boat. I may be up for a couple of casual games tomorrow, but really not interested in keeping an eye on a tournament all day.

This is probably the quintessential "really enjoyed it while watching it, then promptly forgot all about it when it ended" series tbqh.

I'll wear one in stores, especially if crowded. I'll also wear one at work if I'm in sustained close contact with others, but not if I'm just at a desk working normally. Restaurants I typically don't bother anymore, but if I'm going out to eat it's just some fast food place for lunch, and I make it a point to be there before lunch rushes regardless. I do basically always have one on me these days though, and it's not an inconvenience at all to actually wear it.

Would wear one if I were in a crowd outside, or in some other crowded place (including public transit, airplanes, etc) but have avoided such things lately.

Real talk though, I did lose to Thunder Dragons once because they read well enough to tribute one of their special summoned Thunder Dragons so they could normal summon a Thunder Dragon, which let them get around Domain and get one fusion off which was enough for them to win at that point. It was kind of impressive.

I use mine with my computer by plugging it in via USB and it has never gone low. I would suspect your plug (or outlet) that you're using with the wall is bad.

You can tribute summon during the battle step? News to me. Wonder why no Timelord player I've ever faced has done that.

The settings list on the website is woefully incomplete. Try using https://github.com/ArchipelagoMW/Archipelago/blob/main/playerSettings.yaml as a reference to put together your own yaml

AP doesn't support some of the truly dumb stuff that's been popular in the lttpr community lately (pot shuffle, door rando, etc), but there's a lot you can do with it.

It's looking quite possible that Undertale may be in the next AP release, whenever that is - It's currently being beta tested.

I'm not going to get really into the character debates here, but Korekiyo is fantastic.

If it helps, I've seen people in discord saying that you need to start a new save file, but that you'll also immediately get all of your non-local progression if you start a new file.

So hypothetically, as long as you keep good notes on where your local progression is and you're willing to re-play the parts of the game needed to get to it, you could just use that as a workaround. I don't actually know how long it takes you to play HK though. It looks like people racing it tend to take 2-3 hours, but a multiworld would definitely make that longer, in addition to us (presumably) just not being as skilled as people who race it.

I am less than proud to say I've spent over 100 hours on that mode to go through it twice for some god damn reason. Trying to get a perfect board game run is just addicting to me.

I mean, I have the plat trophy for this game. I definitely know the feeling.

The Board Game/RPG stuff is intruiging, but ultimately only really worth doing if you want the related achievements IMO (And it's a huge grind to do that)

It's fun for all of the cross-cast scenes, but those are on youtube too.

Forgot to say that Wheel is at 6:30 Central for me. Right before the 7 pm prime time slot.

And this is exactly why. 6pm local news into 6:30 Wheel on the main station, 6pm Jeopardy into 6:30 rebroadcast of the 6pm local news on the alt station

Similarly, all three of the local NBC/ABC/CBS is news broadcasts literally from 4pm to 6:30, mostly local but with the network's national broadcast at 5:30 breaking it up, then celebrity news show (or Wheel of Fortune) at 6:30

The local Fox is local news from 5 to 6:30, with literally Judge Judy in the 4pm hour, and celebrity news at 6:30. No national news broadcast.

I've always assumed this was because of awkwardness around Central time getting broadcasts simulatenously with Eastern, which this topic seems to back up. But I never really checked on why.

I started watching Ace of the Diamond. The show definitely has potential, but right now I feel like it's suffering from the problem that lots of characters are just too mean-spirited? I'm hoping this is just an issue with them trying to find ways to create drama in the early parts of a sports series, but it feels more pervasive here even if other sports series I've liked have also had similar issues early on.

It's been a bit since I watched the super early parts, but I recall this being rather realistic for high school sports

I played against a Zombie World player yesterday, and he let me keep killing his Balerdroch over and over. I think I got 10 in that game alone because he managed to keep me from killing him for a long while even though I was able to keep killing his monsters

It was great.

I am halfway done with 18 special summons, 31 normal summons, and 32 monsters destroyed.

Looking good to just drop this event like a hot potato by the time I get to the end. Maybe play one or two with a loaner to just poop out a bunch of synchros to cap that for some gems.

I switched over to a True Draco/Floodgate deck after one game specifically because of that. It's halfassed, but it only took a few minutes to build and I only needed to craft one or two SRs for something functional.

(Also, the Synchro Pack that you get tickets for past 11000 gems is actually just fucking awful it looks like, so as soon as I've cleared gems I'm hard out on this event. I don't care about the title in the slightest, so yeah. Awful event for sure.)

I still don't know which loaner I want to play, but I do know that I don't have the means to put together a synchro-only list that's better than any of them lmao

I mean, the spectate duel I watched today was Soul-Absorbing Bone Tower FTK, that was pretty exciting

But yes. That goes back to what I said earlier about having basically lost interest in the game beyond finishing the decks I've already started (+Invoked Shaddoll for the inevitable Fusion event, I've decided is what I'm doing there. Yes, it's probably the strongest in the format, but it's been a deck that's somewhat intrigued me for a while. It just couldn't win out over Zombie semi-nostalgia for my second real deck)

It's by far the best riichi simulator around unless you can read Japanese or have an overly strong hatred for anime girls and styling.

Finally sat down and beat all of the loaner deck duels in solo mode. Most of them in the last few original gates (World Legacy, Digital Bugs, etc) are crazy awful, which I think most of us already know. It wasn't very fun, but it is satisfying to scroll down the list and see the "Complete" on all of them

The last one I did was the World Legacy/Princess Cologne mixture, which I basically just had to repeatedly ff until I got a hand capable of going into Zombiestein early (Whenever I didn't, the AI just turbo'd out Avaramax which that deck can't really answer without Zombiestein), which completely broke the AI and it was an easy win lmao

My sample size is smaller, but I haven't seen any bots so far this month either. I did see people saying that they instituted a 100 gem/day cap on post-match rewards, which is a fairly solid anti-bot measure (Remember: The entire purpose of the bots was to farm these to rack up gems), since the likelihood of a human hitting that without some crazy RNG is low (You can get up to 50 per game, but the normal gem drop per game is like 8, and that's assuming you get any at all which seems to be a fair bit worse than 50/50 for me on wins)

Drytron player goes first, sets up Herald + Beatrice + some link monster I don't recognize on turn 1
Prank Kids player activates Pandemoneium, Drytron chains Herald, Prank Kids chains Droplet. Then it gets fucking nuts.

Drytron chains Gozen match, then chains Beatrice to *that*, then locks himself into Wind element with Gozen Match (Sacrificing his Herald + Beatrice, leaving him with only his link monster), which ultimately lets his Herald negate Pandemonium because it wasn't on the field when Droplet resolved.

This game is too galaxy brain for me wtf

A lot of MD's balance problems stem from bo1 with no side deck, while the banlist is an outdated OCG ban list.

I run fucking Domain Monarchs and it's nigh unstoppable when it doesn't brick because of the lack of back row hate going around, because that'd all be in side decks if we were playing bo3. If I go first, set up properly, and you manage to break my board (even without any actual negates on the field at all), it's typically because you're playing an actual going second deck with dedicated board breaking cards. Which, many decks just don't seem to run in favor of increased consistency for actually building their own boards (And I do that too - My deck has zero hand traps, zero Lightning Storm/Raigeki/Duster/Evenly Matched, etc). But then, game 2 rolls around, the opponent puts in some Twin Twisters or even just MST, and suddenly I have trouble Domain on the board and RIP my strategy.

That deck is super streaky in general though. I had a 10 win streak that ended last night in addition to multiple huge win streaks last month, and I've had 10+ loss streaks too

And all of that said, I don't think Invoked Shaddoll (With or without Dogmatika) or Sky Strikers are much of an issue at all <_<

The good news is that the loaner decks actually looked pretty legit.

The bad news is that they look legit after I dumped a bunch of gems into the framework for a synchro deck, expecting to have another month or so to finish it

FYI for the Hollow Knight players, it looks like resuming a saved game is currently broken, which is highly problematic for trying to play async.

Let's hope it gets fixed (And the fix gets released) before we start.

Yeah, Archipidle is literally nothing, especially in an async format where you let it run while others are afk, it sends all of its checks with no interaction, and it's done in like two hours.

It was an april fools thing for a reason, and it's only real use is to kind of simulate the presence of another person in a synchronous setting. Async really defeats the purpose of it even existing.

Later works better for me.

Yeah, weird time zones and availability aren't an issue at all as long as you've got at least some time. I think every single one of these that we've done has taken four days to finish, to provide a frame of reference

You just play the game for a little bit until the randomizer says there's nothing more you can do (Or you just feel like taking a break), and then you put it down and come back later. While you're not playing, other people will be, and probably find an item you need to progress and open stuff up.

Virtual World seems fine but I get more frustrated by how long people take with it every time I run into it and it's putting me off from wanting to play it myself even though I know it's quite good. Adamancipators has the same problem, but even worse (Especially with how fucking slow excavating is, and that seems to be one of their core things).

(Realistically I should just say "fuck it, Tri-Zoo/Bird or just the rest of the floodgates for that style of Eldlich" because I'm also getting quite frustrated with how often my Monarchs are hard bricking in the past couple weeks, and switching to ZW to try to get a change of pace has just seen me straight up hard countered (Seriously, Necroface Mill and some other deck that was turn 1 dimensional fissure when I tried today, what the fuck)

Wait, that's actually really nice to know since that's the #1 Super Poly target in my ZW deck (Unless I can get Golden Lord before using it)

I'll be using the Mokey Mokey Mate once I unlock it though

Honestly, I think I'm pretty done with the game outside of potential friendly play once I finish my current decks and building stuff for the inevitable fusion/synchro-oriented events. Once I do that, I'll be on two lower-end but competent/competitive decks that I like, two meme decks, and one for each non-Link extra deck type. Without an interest in grinding ranked or keeping up with the meta (especially in a relatively slow-moving but already more-or-less solved format), what reason do I have to really continue?
