(Evil Twins is actually the other deck I have a vague interest in building at the moment, but it's not at all a priority. I'm likely to finish Synchrons and Invoked Shaddoll (Or maybe Despia Shaddoll instead if I can figure out how to make that work well - I pulled the Shaddoll pack a few times before the fusion event started, but only enough to get the core, and I don't have any of the other engines that would go into it), as well as the meme decks I'm still sitting on that are mostly complete, before I even think about that)

They put a new Infinite Impermanence bundle in the store (Same as the previous bundles - 750 gems for card + 10 packs)

I hadn't actually crafted any of these, so hey, free staple. On top of that, I got two URs (some Valkyrie thing I didn't recognize and Interrupted Kaiju Slumber) that I can dust at my convenience.

Kind of interested in trying Floowandereeze when it comes out, though I have no idea when that will be and my interest in the game otherwise is pretty low right now.

I've played Swordsoul twice. Went first both times. Both did their combo thing for a few cards on their turn without being able to out the Domain extra deck lock so they ff'd without finishing their turns when they realized they couldn't actually do anything to me (Pretty sure I'd get wrecked by them going 2nd though)

How come every time I come back to Master Duel there's some new issue with bots.

I'm currently 3 for 3 on bots that just sit on the draw phase of their turn.

Free wins keep me from having to stress to try to rank to gold 1 at the end of the month so I'll take it. Especially since they're going to be free and easy surrenders to avoid ranking up to plat.

And when I get to go first, I've been cycling the summon, win and spell activation dailies with my Monarch deck, which is decent to good at both types of summons even without an extra deck, so those are pretty free too

(So basically, even though they take longer, I much prefer these to the insta-scooping DD Dynamite FTK bots - I can just do other things for a few minutes while I wait)

From what I've seen, people tend to only really complain about the mods on this site after they get moderated (Usually, but not always, for something rather deserved).

I think every single Asian-character name I've seen since getting ranked up to Gold this month has been a disconnect/timeout bot and every single name using the latin alphabet has been a real player

It's kind of silly how extreme the difference (and/or bot problem, at least in Gold) is

I played (100% completionist) Majora's Mask at least yearly from like 2002 to 2019 or so. Haven't done it the past couple years because I've been scratching that itch with the randomizer instead, but that's still a lot of time in that game.

By sheer hour count, the only things I can think of that come close are Persona 4 and 5 (At 3-4 playthroughs of 80+ hours for each) and maybe Gen 1/2 Pokemon, and I'm not sure those are particularly close

(I have no idea why Konomi is incentivizing normal summons in an event supposedly oriented around extra deck summoning, but they did it for xyz and synchro too so...)

I don't think True Draco was super strong this event (At least, compared to how the floodgates could completely shut down synchro decks), but it still had one really big advantage going for it - You can easily spam normal summons with it (And you can get a fair few special summons via True King's Return if it turns into a grind game, too, and they have very easy to access destruction effects too), which Konomi wanted to incentivize LOL. Not to say they were weak for this event, but I think it has more to do with them being well-suited to the mission list (And rather cheap to build, since you only need like two SRs other than whatever floodgates you want to run, while conventional fusion decks tend to need lots of SRs and URs) than them being overpoweringly strong.

If you don't play something like that, most fusion decks are, what? Aleister the Invoker, and maybe a Despia or Hero monster for normal summons, probably not more than once or twice a duel?

I mean, if your goal is bronze, just play until you're one win from gold 5. No reason to turn down at least a few free gems in the form of daily missions and rank up rewards

I don't see the point in dropping all the way down there compared to Silver myself, but whatever works.

(Granted, as I say this, I was in a match with a bot that did nothing but pass, I couldn't OTK him on turn 3, and he couldn't handle having 7 cards in hand on turn 4 so I had to wait for the time limit to expire, which it did as I was writing this)

I actually got finally forced to Gold V yesterday by hitting this kind of opponent in ranked, but I thought it was a one off and didn't think about jt.

Something pretty fucked is going on here.

All of the one turn games were my opponent disconnecting without doing anything.
One of the two turn games was somebody immediately scooping at the start of their turn. The other was me winning the coin flip and being able to play a full turn before they disconnected, by clicking through the "Waiting for response" popup.

What even is going on?

It's SM64-esque. Emblems and upgrades are randomized. Getting X emblems unlocks Cannon's Core. Beat that stage to unlock the final boss, defeat final boss to win.

I was able to get Despia and Hero players into stable situations where they couldn't really do anything to me but it still looked like they had the stronger position so they didn't surrender, and farm a bunch of mission progress off each before putting them down. it was great.

I'm pretty consistently in the 7 to 8 range (Usually closer to 7 than 8), and if I get less than that I can usually really feel it the next day.

I'm running an exodia deck to clear daily missions (Normal Summon + spell activations) while maintaining low rank so that I don't have to tryhard the fusion event to max it out (normal summon RML to start, or just summon White Stone to suicide after I brick to get progress there and give opponent easy wins)

I got into a mirror today where I bricked mega hard to start, but my opponent ran out of steam at two mallets and I was able to pop off after

I got credit for "Quick victory" for winning on turn 3 despite the longest fucking turns LMAO

I don't follow either one basically at all until playoffs. I find them both annoying and laborous to follow in the regular season and offseason, but I do try to follow both playoffs.

And as for right now, my local team is still in the NBA but 60 saves was not enough to keep them in the NHL. So I care about the NBA more.

Has Danganronpa ever billed itself as a true/fair whodunnit though? Certainly, most of the cases are that way (largely since plot demands such), but it's always been a character drama first and a whodunnit second IMO. If the twist is entertaining and satisfying (which I think this one is, personally), the fact that it makes for "bad mystery" matters little imo.

I did actually grab every single one of the 216 LttP locations before clearing in one of my seeds last month, but that was a bit of an outlier based on the mode I was playing (I was swordless, so I needed the Silver Arrows to win. But I had access to every single check without them, so I just did them all to look for them/maybe find progression for others instead of making them wait on me getting the Arrows)

For comparison, I only checked around 130 locations before clearing this month, and I skipped 3-4 checks in V6 too.

Which means I wouldn't bother getting anything signed and if they paid me back great, I'll hell them financially again in the future. If not, then they lose the privilege of ever receiving help again.

Yeah, this. If they don't pay it back, it's essentially a gift. But I only do that once, and I'd tell them as much before I gave it to them. If they do pay it back, I'll be open to helping them again next time (as long as I can afford to, obv)

I started playing it last fall or so, but I got to Pewter, realized I was going way too hard on trying to catch everything I could, put it down to take a break, and never went back to it.

The common use for DPE is Artifact Dagda to set Artifact Scythe, into Verte into DPE, use DPE to pop self+Scythe during opponent's standby phase, locking your opponent out of the Extra Deck for the turn. Then DPE just revives himself later with his effect, and you keep popping him (unless you have something else on your field you actively want to pop, like, say, another set Scythe) and one of your opponent's cards. Every single turn.

And it's only a four card main deck package (five if you're not already running Scythe). So mega splashable. Every relevant paper deck is running it except the madmen still playing Drytrons or pure/floodgate Eldlich

I found the new pickup when I was about 20 minutes into a run that was just super ahead (Had upgraded guns, birds, axe, and a couple other things I forget offhand).

That was, uhh.... Something.

Looks like it requires a mod for real controller support on PC, which surprises me since it's on at least a couple of consoles.

If you wanted to though, you could probably get away with binding an analog stick to mouse movement and buttons to left/right click - the game is entirely point-and-click (or just click to advance text) so that should be playable

On a semi-related note, I bought Slay the Spire on the steam sale. I haven't touched it yet and probably won't until next weekend, but it's a no-brainer game for me to at least give a fair shake considering how much I love FTL and how frequently I hear the two compared. I have 9500 gems and a new gut feeling that Darklord Despia may be a more fun fusion deck than Invoked Shaddoll (especially since Winda has decent chances of being limited/banned during the inevitable fusion event, and that's my primary incentive for building a fusion-oriented deck)

Got another few days before I cap and have to decide what pack(s) I want to sink a few k gems into for sure though.

Nah, it's just relatively underrepresented. There's two or three of us in the DFW area, and maybe a couple across the rest of the state. I believe there's one guy in Oklahoma, but I can't recall ever having heard of a single user in the rest of the grey region

4. Reg (LTTP) yaml received

I pinged you on discord for it too, but just as an FYI I've changed the yaml I want to use and uploaded it to #yaml

The only things I changed was removing the possibility to roll Swordless or Retro, since upon further review and reflection, neither is much fun to roll as part of a potentially random package, instead of a dedicated setup imo. Especially since AP "retro" is only rupee bow instead of also generic keys.

I'll give it a week or two to see what people are saying plat is like before exiting gold

idgaf about rank, but I do care about being able to rack up gems semi-effectively to finish a few decks out, and lower ranks = easier daily mission completion.

I'd take upgraded knives over the upgraded whip! At least I can aim the knives instead of only hitting things above me with the whip.

The evolved whip heals you pretty nicely though, which gives it a cool niche (and pairs well with upgraded garlic, which has +knockback making it a solid option in an otherwise high-DPS build)

(Also I simply can't stand having to aim anything in this game. Total pain)

While some stuff is definitely better than others, you can at least find a niche for pretty much everything (except knives, fuck knives) to fit them into a build at basically any level of play in my experience.
