If we allow all free spoilers, then Discovery+ watchers can freely ruin the episode for people who want to (or have to) watch it on TV. But if we don't put the spoiler warning on the topic at all, then we have to talk under spoiler tags for the entire topic, long after most of the people who care about it have watched the episode. The "use spoiler tags until 24 hours after the episode airs" rule is a fair compromise to meet in the middle. If the info I'm hearing on Reddit is correct, this is the second-to-last fight night before the postseason tournament bracket is revealed, so it's do-or-die time for a lot of teams. Also on the card is Cobalt looking to continue its path of destruction after absolutely obliterating Ghost Raptor in its last fight, the first major test for the 2-0 rookie flipper Blip as it faces Lock-Jaw, and a battle of two of the most powerful weapons in BattleBots history as Deep Six looks to tame the mighty Minotaur without getting itself sunk. As usual, please put any discussion of match results under spoiler tags until 24 hours after the episode airs out of consideration for people who can't watch the episode live, especially if you decide to watch the episode early on Discovery+ before it airs on TV. All of the deck lists found in the in-game deck search feature are taken from Yu-Gi-Oh Neuron, an external app where you can save and register decks and do a bunch of other stuff for the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG. But since that app primarily focuses on the real-life TCG and not just Master Duel, it includes info on decks and cards that aren't playable in Master Duel yet because those cards haven't been implemented yet. | Calwings 03/01/22 3:40:58 PM #392 | I took some time to plan out my characters and teams in PriConne, and I've "whittled it down" to "only" 25 characters I'm going to focus on going forward across all of my teams. 20 of them are "mostly" up to date, and I just need to get them to their optimal rank whenever the next double drops event comes. Eriko and Kyoka aren't at 5-stars yet, I still need to complete UE's for Erika and Rei to make them useful, plus Anne and Grea aren't in the game yet but I know they're coming soon and I want them both. In the meantime, I'm going to keep using Djeeta, Mimi, Karyl, and Hatsune until I get those done. | Calwings 02/28/22 3:23:26 AM #374 | A new gacha game that I've been waiting for finally came out, New Japan Pro Wrestling: Strong Spirits. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bushiroad.njpwss This'll be the first non-anime-styled gacha game that I've ever played (then again, pro wrestling is basically just redneck shonen anime) and as a big fan of NJPW I've been really excited for this game for a while. Plus, I think it's the first official NJPW game with an English language option. In terms of how it fares as a gacha game... it seems interesting. It has two separate things you need to pull for separately (wrestler cards you actually use and partner cards used for training) but both of them have a 5% rate for 3-star (the max rarity) wrestlers, which might be the highest I've ever seen in a gacha game. Right off the bat, you get enough gems to make 4 full 10-pulls (I did 3 for wrestlers and 1 for partners) and I somehow managed to get an entire team worth of 3-star characters on just my 4th re-roll attempt. I can't say much about the actual gameplay yet since I haven't explored it much. On my main account, it took 10 duels to get the 2 wins needed to complete the daily challenges, and on my side account, it took 18 duels to do the same. In total tonight, I had 24 losses to only 4 "wins", and 3 of my 4 "wins" were just my opponent misplaying and scooping, so in reality I only had 1 win that I actually earned out of 28 total duels. On top of absolutely hating Yamai and every second of her screentime (I think I might actually hate her more than Zenitsu from Demon Slayer) the rest of the show is just... really dull. In 5 entire episodes I probably haven't even laughed 5 times, which is awful for an anime that's supposed to be a comedy. I have had such better luck rolling on Stalwart Forces on getting any UR sometimes even 3+ per 10 pack. Has allowed me a lot of flexibility and helped me amass the staples I need to win The UR and SR odds are the same for every pack in the game (2.5% for a UR, 7.5% for an SR) so your luck must be really weird. The vast majority of the time, secret packs are far better for building a deck than any of the other packs because they maximize the chances of getting the specific cards needed for a specific deck/archetype. I spent so many days of my youth watching that show. NightRender posted... I feel like I had the exact opposite experience. To me Battlebots was the "real" robot combat show, and Robot Wars was the cheap knockoff. Y'all can play with your Megabloks all day, I'll be over here with my Lego. The Robot Wars arena is (IMO) more balanced for all of the different weapon types. The better hazards leads to more tactical fights rather than just "crash weapons and pray theirs breaks sooner" like many fights in the BattleBox are, and the Pit gives control bots a fair and viable win condition instead of them needing to depend on judge's decisions where the criteria is heavily weighed against them. I think BattleBots would be way better if used the same layout as the Robot Wars arena. Just remove the house robots (they're just producer-controlled hazards) and add a timer so the Pit can't be opened until a full minute into the fight (to prevent a Storm2 situation where wedgebots are fishing for quick wins via the Pit) and I think it would be perfectly balanced for every kind of robot. Also, But everything else involved, from the quality of the robots to the production values to even the commentators, I think BattleBots does better. Part of that is just due to the budget though. Robot Wars aired on the taxpayer-funded BBC Network in the UK, so there's no advertising money coming in for the show and no sponsorship money allowed for the teams to use. | Calwings 02/25/22 7:46:29 PM #255 | I just faced an opponent who set up Apollousa Bow of the Goddess with 3 negates, Borreload Savage Dragon with 2 negates (but only once per turn), and Infernoble Knight Emperor Charles on turn 1. But he made one fatal mistake: also leaving a Mecha Phantom Beast Token from O-Lion on the field. Despite not drawing a Kaiju, I was somehow able to skirt through all of the negates and Charles' destruction effect and still OTK the dude with Chaos Ancient Gear Giant and its piercing damage. The token being left there for 4500 free damage was the only reason I was able to fully OTK, but even without that, I think my opponent might have surrendered anyways after Chaos Giant fisted all of his big monsters in one turn. I mentioned earlier that my main account fell to Gold2 earlier today, but my side account actually made it into Plat4 after that win I just talked about, the highest I've been on either account yet. I don't know about the LN or whatever drama happened with it, but IMO the anime is absolutely as good as the hype. It has a really creative concept, two really fun main characters, fantastic comedy with a bit of parody, and a bunch of unique "battles" (more like games, it's complicated to explain without spoiling anything) where the MC's win with clever strategy and not asspulls. Plus it's all backed up by beautiful animation, great voice acting in both Japanese and English, and one of the best openings that I've ever heard from an anime. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CBp4qylX6I The fact that the anime had such a blatant and shameless "fuck you go read the LN" non-ending is literally the only reason why I didn't give the show a 10/10.
