Dark Souls combat but in a big vertical open world with remote dungeons and such.

I read a book called Dancing With Eternity. In it, there was an operation that could restore a person's physical age to ~25 giving them a whole new lifespan. However, the only way normal people could afford it was by signing a contract where they'd have to spend a new lifetime as essentially slave labor, and then when it was done they'd get a second operation paid for by the labor. And many people opted to have their memories of the work lifetime wiped because it was such a burden.

At one point in the main character's past, he fell in love with a woman in one of those contracts, but ultimately she chose to erase all the memories rather than remember both him and the labor.

I dunno about you guys but like 7 years ago when my sister got an Xbox for Christmas it happened to have Skyrim and goddamn did I LIVE in Skyrim.

I feel the same thing coming on looking at Elden Ring gameplay. The wide open pastoral fields, the enormous cliffs with giant buildings in the distance... oh mah gawd.

It's more like the party system is only humans, like Persona. There's no demon party members like Devil Summoner and Soul Hackers, instead every has a GUMP and uses it to summon a demon for an attack, just like Persona >_>

Fair to an extent, but I wouldn't call Digital Devil Saga anything like Persona despite having human party members that just do demon transformations.

The story already looks more complete and character-driven than SMTV was. And that was a fantastic game off gameplay and world design alone.

Yes it looks very different from Soul Hackers 1. That game is also 25 years old. I'd HOPE there's some fresh ideas when such an old title is resurrected.

That's only ever been true when destroying continuous S/T cards that were already face up when activating their effect.

As far as I can tell the winner is determined by whoever goes first and then summons their entire deck

Ash Blossom, Nibiru, and other cards make this less true as they add interactivity as instants like in MtG, while Maxx C can nullify a turn 1 outright. Also, control is perhaps the strongest it's been in a long time, with Eldlich, Sky Strikers and such decks seeing consistent play and success while being very light on monster summoning.

I'm so glad I was able to put this game out of my mind for like years but now that it's less than a week away I can't think about anything else! I remember when the gameplay trailer dropped with the different weapons and the ghost deer I said to my friends "this will be the best game ever made". Here's hoping. No idea what my stat build will be though...

The point was Batman realized Superman was human just like him and had a family and people he loved and wanted to protect. They were motivated by the same thing all along

I know you're tired of hearing stuff like what I'm about to say buuut

Synchro solitaire has unfortunately been a thing since like, at least the release of Cosmic Blazar Dragon (early 2017), if not earlier. TG Hyper Librarian is basically perma-limited to stop those bozos from drawing 2 every summon.

Synchro solitaire is sort of a novelty because despite going through like 40 effects during their turn, it's hard to end on an unbreakable board and their recoverability is very poor. Especially in a best of 3 environment, they will be annihilated by Forbidden Droplet, Ra Sphere Mode, DRNM, Super Poly, etc. Oh and they will probably lose to a well timed Nibiru

But yeah, they take forever especially if the pilot isn't very good at it, and it's notorious enough that the term 'synchro solitaire' exists for it.
