Layla's the real mvp of the finale, although the build-up to get to that part is slow and in the back of my head I can't help thinking c'mon guys it's a short finale. I was hyped up though when Taweret suggested the avatar, although they tease it out for a while. I do though enjoy Marc & Steven though cooperating in their fights which is great.... and then uh again conflicted with the blackout finisher. In the very moment it was like holy shit but very quickly thinking I'd like to see that tho... how're you gonna hide the moneyshot with what feels like yet another Jake tease which is all he's gotten until the very last moment. Also really confused again by Marc/Steven's asylum & Dr. Harrow coming up again which I don't think served much purpose unlike the previous uses and it feels like a rollback from how it was last left off actually helping Steven & Marc come to terms with reality.

Also awkward that the post-credits is the actual ending of the season, because without it what happened in the blackout would be left to another unnamed tease and I gotta say when the credits rolled that frustrated me. I loved the scene itself though and it's perfect they even got him driving a limo, with Khonshu being all the more devious taking advantage of Jake all along, but it didn't feel like a teaser but just... the actual conclusion of the season.

I guess it's kinda fitting for this show to make me feel multiple ways about it in the finale.

*edit* also holy bloody god damn hell the rest of the egyptian gods & avatars are absolutely pathetic chumps, definitely removed without a shadow of a doubt that they really don't just have ulterior conflicting motives and they're just a bunch of idiots.

I always figured Black Shadow would get in to take Gdorf's moveset so he could get something unique he deserves

A unique dorf would be obligated to somehow fit in a dead man's volley projectile... which as a Melee/Brawl moveset would just be a simple projectile but if he got the attention of a DLC character I could see Sakurai trying to figure out how to work a gimmick out of it.
