Or alternatively, the price goes up enough that you can't justify getting it anymore? Fast food, sit down, w/e. Can also be something that you knew was limited time only but lamented when it went away anyway.

I'm not sure I've eaten at Taco Bell more than a dozen times since they discontinued it

I also miss Burger King's original chicken tenders, instead of the sad Wendy's knockoff nuggets they serve now.

Panera's Sierra Turkey. I can actually get it when we order catering through work but it's not on any apps or menus when I got to the stores anymore. I'm sure if I asked for it they could make it though.

I was literally singing this song 15 minutes ago, thats insane.

I used to get a very specific meal of five items off the dollar menu at Wendy's, which would probably cost me like $10 now.

There's an Italian place near me that took their chicken/veal saltambocca off the menu, which I really liked.

Drumsticks at Buffalo Wild Wings. Pepperoni pockets at Buffalo Wild Wings.

Limeade sparklers at Taco Bell.

There was a burrito place in Athens, OH called Big Mama's Burritos. It used to have a Mama Q which had shredded chicken, bbq, corn, onion straws... always got it with pulled pork instead of chicken. But the place got bought out and it's begun being franchised and they got rid of that item.

It's kind of basic, but Taco Bell's 7-layer burrito was my biggest fast food comfort food. It also felt like the weirdest item in general to discontinue.

But it's just as well because I've gotten fast food (excluding pizza) maybe 8 times since the start of 2020.

There's a wing place in my hometown that had "tequila fajita lime wings" that were by far their best flavor. The other stuff was still good, but I really miss those wings.

The place has unfortunately gone a little downhill since. It's still my preferred wing place, but it used to be so far above and beyond other places.

it's apparently back now but it comes and goes and popcorn chicken poutine is the only reason I'd order from KFC

This is so stupid because it's such garbage food but I used to eat a lot of Speedway Stuffers (which is essentially gas station calzone) but basically all the Speedways in the Orlando area have changed to different gas stations in the last year and I'm sure the few that are remaining will follow suit soon. The ones that are left are just enough of a pain in the ass to get to that I don't grab it anymore

Taco Bell's Grilled Stuft Burrito is the first thing that comes to mind.

Sticking to national chains... McDonald's did away with the one and only thing I'd ever eat there. I don't remember what it was called but it was bacon and onion strings or something. I now never eat there, because that was the only thing they had that I liked (Wendy's is better for bacon burgers anyway). Culver's also has the pub burgers on a temporary basis, but at least I know they're temporary.

Most of my "usual" places are local restaurants. A brewpub stopped serving flatbread pizzas a decade ago, which sucked for me (even though that place is still awesome). Another stopped with the pizza burger and the thickest, juiciest mozzarella sticks around, and losing those also sucked (that place is also still awesome).

Wendy's used to have Crispy Chicken Casear Wraps for about a dollar but got rid of them for their awful Go Wraps.

Taco Bell is like the king of doing this with their food and somehow most of the garbage is what they keep permanently

As far as fast food, Popeyes onion rings. I live in a small town with very limited options for fast food, and there's nowhere here to get some onion rings outside of a few weeks each year where Burgerville sells Walla Wallas. A few months ago they started building a Popeyes here and as much as I like their chicken, I was mostly happy there was going to be somewhere to get some onion rings in town.

Nope, they apparently don't sell those things any longer.

oh man arby's potato cakes. I didn't get those so much but they were kind of similiar to I think they were like, bacon and cheese stuffed potato cake-like objects? Those were great.

Also the thing that sparked this topic for me was I went to walmart the other day, and they have a hot bar/deli area where you can get a lunch plate for p cheap...or used to. Used to be like 5 bucks for any one meat (chicken mostly of varying styles) and any one side (usually went mashed potatoes or big fat mozz sticks), or 2 sides for $6. I didn't go often but it was nice to have there and it was always great when I did.

Went yesterday and they re-did the meal style so that instead of any meat + side, you pay for the chicken based on what item it is and you have to get the sides separate. So my 6 savory-style wings and a side of mashed taters (which also seemed reduced in size from previous visits) came out to $9. And they never have the mozz sticks anymore either. So I probably won't be getting stuff from there anymore.

the only time I ever get Little Caesar's is when they have the Pretzel Crust Pizza, we're probably due for another limited time offer of it pretty soon

Taco Bell's Beefy Frito Burrito

haven't really had this problem with restaurants the way i have with snack foods/candy. maybe when McDonald's removed spicy nuggets, but spicy chicken sandwich is similarly good and was either already out then or not too long after. Wendy's also removed their spicy nuggets temporarily but they definitely always had a spicy chicken sandwich. in between they had tenders that were pretty good, too. i also liked the Arby's homestyle fries much better than their crinkle fries, but like, they always had curly fries so not a big deal there either.

Mine's a bit odd, but Little Caesar's used to have the *best* ranch until about 2007 or so when they changed it out for some gross shit, and then sometime after sold the peel top cups which aren't much better. I miss that ranch so damn much. Better than Jet's or Wing Stop tbh, and those are excellent.

Also, McDonald's Arch Deluxe from way back with the peppercorns on it.

Taco Bell's Mexican Pizza, which thankfully they're bringing back this month

Pizza Hut Indonesia used to serve spicy tuna pizza, which was delicious. They have tuna melt now, which is also tasty, but it's very different.

McDonald's Bacon Egg and Cheese Bagel with that hollandaise sauce... it was heaven in my mouth. literally the only edible McDonald's breakfast item, imo.

I doubt they miss my business though :(

I'm not sure I can justify a 12 hour drive with these gas prices for a 4.69 cent breakfast bagel.

But you can be damn sure I just plotted out the drive.

When I started my current job a decade ago, you could get three McDoubles/Junior Chickens for $5, and you could customize with different sauces. Now you can't even get two for $5, and there's little to no customization. I also miss the good gravy from KFC.
