They realize that the BOTW formula is fundamentally bad, and had to figure out a way to keep the good stuff and fix the bad without pissing off all the BOTW fanboys. Honestly, coding this message with the different suggestions sounds harder than adding support for spaces in username. Nothing is ever as easy as it seems though. It seems like spaces haven't been allowed for a long time? Most likely they have some system that only allows alphanumeric, _, - and that's it. So you can't just encode spaces as a special char or %20 or something, and convert it in the HTML. You could do some trick like "____Aasjd23j1d1j2d___" represents a space, but that's kinda ridiculous. I would personally go for that anyway, or try harder to find another workaround to let people keep their 20+ year old usernames, but it's easy to see how they decided it wasn't worth it. --- _foolmo_ he says listen to my story this maybe are last chance |

Metroidvania is a Castlevania which is Metroid-like, to distinguish it from the other Castlevanias which are totally not like Metroid. So the game needs to be somewhat Castlevania-like to be Metroidvania, so Metroid itself doesn't apply. BUT I just realized there is Metroid 2, which is almost structured like the non-Metroid Castlevanias. So you could call that a Castletroid. So if Metroid 2 is a Castletroid, Rondo of Blood is a Castletroidvania. SotN on the other hand is a non-Castletroidvania aka a Metroidvania. And Super Metroid ends up being a Metroidvaniatroid. It's a turn based but made more messy and blurry by adding real time timing, just so you feel like it's more exciting and dynamic. But it's not, it's dirt simple and formulaic just like any turn based system. The timing aspect adds nothing and only takes away. X-2 was fun despite that because it had sweet animations (perfecting style over substance). X perfected turn based by making the core actually good, and then adding the style as an extra layer on top. Persona does that great too but each character is kinda samey. In the late game it's a lot more interesting since you specialize everyone. But X gets weaker in the late game since everyone becomes samey too (if you do it right at least). But they did capture the essence of Sonic Adventure in this game I think. The shitty open world from SA1 with janky physics and animations. Why not an open world of Metal Harbor tier level design?
