Summary is that a 14 year old obsessed with a soap opera villain and SAW decides to create a plot similar to a villain in one of those shows would. He first kills his mom with a hammer, then sets the house on fire, saving his baby brother and dog and calling the cops acting as if it was an intruder who did it and that he was a hero for saving them. The cops later found out that he had written this entire plot out, including the fact that he'd get away and become a villain in the future, on a document on his computer (which somehow survived the fire) before he tried to delete it.

Those shows are ecchi. They're meant to be trashy. The equivalent are those "X rated" movies and MTV. I guess American cartoons figure that niche is already handled better by those mediums.

When I think of Adult cartoons, I think of Bob's Burgers and The Simpsons and stuff like that. So really not much sexualization. But you are right about family guy. Archer, Invincible, Rick and Morty, Big Mouth, and the Harley Quinn show were what I thought of. It's true their artstyle is generally considered less enticing than the ones in anime but that really just says more about the people when the content itself has just as much sexualization if not more. There are still plenty of R34 of the shows I mentioned and even on this board there are people fetishizing their characters.

Literally the first thing that signifies a cartoon being "adult" is to be loaded with sex talk and sexual content. I think it just feels more "natural" to you so it doesn't feel like fanservice whereas a foreign show feels more unnatural.

Also the most mainstream American cartoon has a rapist as a main character, bestiality, incest, and sexualizes babies.

I'm sure there are more franchises above Zelda too, like Pokemon and Mario, which are also above GTA.
Although looking at the highest grossing franchises (including more than just games), Final Fantasy, Pac-man, Call of Duty, LoL, Warcraft, are also above GTA. Also Candy Crush.

Oh my bad I thought that was the top grossing franchises. That's interesting then, I guess the sheer number of games do it? For the record botw sold 26 million while RE's best seller (RE5) is 12 million.

Surprised it hasn't already. RE is multimedia with movies and tv shows while Zelda is pretty much game only these days. iirc the RE games themselves actually sell less than Monster Hunter.
