Intel has the money to keep theirs for now, but they need to execute, launch stuff on time and catch up. Samsung also is floundering. Nvidia actually got on TSMC this time, but still blew the power up to keep pace with RDNA 3. You shouldn't have to have a 1200w PSU to make full use of your setup. I have an 850w PSU from Super Flower. That won't even handle a 4080 adequately, when it was perfectly fine for a 1080 and kind of OK for a 3080. The 13900K draws 343W under full load in the same "unlimited mode" that draws 250W on Alder Lake. I will happily put an AMD card in my next computer if AMD can prove to be as good or better than Nvidia. They already are now minus the ray tracing gimmick. And then they still pretend there is some monumental difference etween DLSS and FSR. When the 7000 series has good RT performance another excuse will pop up, people have just chosen to enslave themselves to Nvidia no matter what. Even when AMD cards were better from all angles the best the got was a 50/50 marketshare split. Well, nVIDIA was the only maker that had the Quick Swap from TV to docked mode with their nVIDIA shield platform, ready to go. they partnered because nvidia gave them tegra for pennies since no one else(literally) wanted it. nintendo was the lifeline to get something out of it. not only was tegra hot and power hungry for mobile devices, it also had very bad performance. the switch could use it at 15w and didn't need great performance. --- It's not the end of the world, but we can see it from here. |
