Damn, they make really good video cards. Have had a 3070 for almost two years and absolutely no problems with it. All past cards (from other companies) have always run into some minor issues.

Nintendo realized that making Dev Houses work on 2x games instead of one was stupid.

So the future is a Hybrid Home/Mobile console.

Guess what, Nintendo was there first and their Astronomic Sales proves that it works.

I agree. I think Xbox Series S is Microsoft figuring out how to scale games across different SKU's so eventually they can make portable models in the future.

Just seems like everything is building up to having the choice of playing any game you want on any type of system (or streaming) you want. Crossgen games seem to scale better than they ever did and things like that are just going to scale across even better.

NVIDIA having DLSS for future Nintendo systems is going to be a big proof of concept for this type of thing too.

Ive had two EVGAs and they both broke so not really a brand Id buy again.

GPUs going in a downturn with both economic recession and crypto moving away from PoW so sounds like a good business move to get out of the game entirely instead of riding out the bad time.

If MS can make it work on the XB1, they can create a portable Xbox given that SteamDeck exists.

It's only a matter of time before a "Portable APU" will come out that can meet the XB1 level of specs.

Same, every EVGA I've had started doing weird shit within a year

I'm generally an Asus guy, never had any of their stuff malfunction on me yet. I've had an Asus board get hit by lighting through the cable modem and ethernet jack. Cable modem went up in smoke, PC only lost the network adapter lol.

Does anyone else even really make hybrid cards? My last two GPUs have been EVGA hybrid ones and they're great. Not too loud and you can put Noctua fans on the radiators. Is it really necessary, no, but I liked them.

Edit: Apparently Asus does, and I think I saw another brand do so as well before.

Linus made the point that since Nvidia are vindictive af, EVGA probably won't sell AMD cards in an effort to not piss Nvidia off even further

He seemed to take what was being said by EVGA at full face value and was quite anti Nvidia

Nvidia wants to be vertical like Apple, so this isn't surprising. We'll just have to rely on AMD doing to them what they did to Intel. I will happily put an AMD card in my next computer if AMD can prove to be as good or better than Nvidia.

They already are now minus the ray tracing gimmick. Of course people still pretend to use it despite most games not using it and performance being universally bad with it.

And then they still pretend there is some monumental difference etween DLSS and FSR. When the 7000 series has good RT performance another excuse will pop up, people have just chosen to enslave themselves to Nvidia no matter what. Even when AMD cards were better from all angles the best the got was a 50/50 marketshare split.

Even though most people will need to upgrade their power supply again for Nvidia they'll just do it and then complain in vain at the high prices.

All of the major console SOCs run AMD. RDNA2 is good, and RDNA3 is rumoured to be better. FSR is open source and can be baked in at the driver level in games, instead of hardware locked like RT and DLSS. Freesync isn't proprietary either. AMD is just more consumer friendly at thus point. Just get the drivers up to snuff and we're good to go.

Nvidia has released 3 drivers in the past 5 years that destroyed their cards, their cards themselves have high failure rates due to PCB sagging separating memory chips from the board. One single AMD GPU has had driver issues in that time span, the 5700XT.

Guys like you will just copy/paste your lame comment for the rest of your life. Just say you will only buy NVIDIA it's easy.

Why would I say that when its false? When its time for me to buy a new GPU i will evaluate the products available and buy the best one. So far its always been NVIDIA for GPUs. I recently bought an AMD cpu though which is more AMD than you ever bought

I can say at least with the current generation of gpus, if they are similar prices I would choose Nvidia over AMD easily. But I really hope the next generation turns the tables.

Oh. I also hate the idea of Nvidia's solution to better performance is just to chuck more watts at the problem. Make things better, but make them reasonable and efficient. 600w power draw on a high end video card? No, that's not the solution. You shouldn't have to have a 1200w PSU to make full use of your setup. I have an 850w PSU from Super Flower. That won't even handle a 4080 adequately, when it was perfectly fine for a 1080 and kind of OK for a 3080.

Look at CPUs for instance. High end Alder Lake CPUs draws almost 200w under load. The 5950x draws far less.

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/5/5/0/AAAAD4AADr-W.jpg

AM5 is supposed to be much better about this as well, but cooling may be an issue with how concentrated the die package is on the substrate.

The 13900K draws 343W under full load in the same "unlimited mode" that draws 250W on Alder Lake.

A review just came out.

https://videocardz.com/newz/first-review-of-retail-intel-core-i9-13900k-raptor-lake-cpu-emerges

You can't run an intel/nvidia build on an 850W PSU anymore.

It's madness. 400w was all you needed for a modest gaming build. Put a low end SKU CPU in your machine (65w TDP), pair it with a higher end video card (170w), and away you go. Now? 650w is your recommended spec.

Everyone is falling behind TSMC. There were like 20+ competitive fabs 30 years ago and they get knocked off with each generation of chip advancement. Intel has the money to keep theirs for now, but they need to execute, launch stuff on time and catch up. Samsung also is floundering.

Nvidia actually got on TSMC this time, but still blew the power up to keep pace with RDNA 3. Imagine how small their gain over Ampere is if they kept the same TDP.

It was their "LARGEST" AIB partner in North America.

A literal 40% of all nVIDIA GPU's were made by EVGA for 20+ years.
