I've had an Asus board get hit by lighting through the cable modem and ethernet jack. That won't even handle a 4080 adequately, when it was perfectly fine for a 1080 and kind of OK for a 3080. Look at CPUs for instance. High end Alder Lake CPUs draws almost 200w under load. Intel has the money to keep theirs for now, but they need to execute, launch stuff on time and catch up. Samsung also is floundering. Nvidia actually got on TSMC this time, but still blew the power up to keep pace with RDNA 3.
