All saying it takes 10 years means is that the game has an estimated 10 years worth of content. The day-to-day gameplay of pretty much any f2p game is a slow grind. You're not expected to have everything day 1.

but only if the engine is built with that in mind.

if your car was made for regular octane gasoline, putting higher octane gasoline isn't going to do anything. however, if it was made for high octane, and it doesn't get it, it's a) gonna get less gas milage or b) get less horsepower because the computer will sense it and adjust

And I get the love for Final Fantasy's new direction, but I personally can't stand it. But that's just me being an old man who likes ATB style Turn-Based combat over Action RPGs. To me they miss more often with action rpgs than they do turn-based games.
