honestly i'd take Ys 7 over it, which just came out to PC. maybe the new one is better too.

and of course all you're seeing is anime games, that's literally the only market the Vita has. no western devs are working on it, Sony's all but abandoned it, so all you're really left is the otaku base in Japan. it's basically the "oh, i guess we can port something to the Vita too" system when PS4 games are developed.

the value of a Vita has drastically gone down over the years not because of its library but because you can play better versions of most of its library on PC or remasters for the PS4.

it still has a number of exclusives mind you. though they generally do violate your not being interested in anime games. case and point: Dungeon Travelers 2 is likely the best unique game you could play on it (and i'm including P4G to that) but it's heavy on fanservice.

Grace has a fantastic TMR to her though, that ain't much of a troll. +25% MAG and SPR is a bit weaker than Vanille's but the +20% MP makes up for the 5% loss in each stat.

first thing i thought of was durability. laptops can last a few years but a desktop should be lasting you twice the length/run at peak performance for far longer periods of time. it's not as extreme as say, a smartphone, but constant usage will wear the laptop more simply because of the cooling available.

second thought was how easy they are to repair when damaged. in a desktop you can change or add on most things and there's a few clear standards we work with. in a laptop these days, you maybe can get the hard drive (which has like 4-5 different standards there) and RAM still.

so far seen everything but 2-3 and i dropped 'em.
there's a lot of really good shows listed here so it's going to be a terrifying ride as usual where a third of the stuff in the 80+ range is better than most in the 1-10 slots.

Noragami S2 is about right though. the quality is so much better than S1 i'd honestly say it's worth watching S1, which ain't bad either.

yeah, honestly once you know the way the bug works it's a no-brainer to buy. it's just a bit over a dollar a ticket and you get 750 lapis, resupply your gold, and get a couple guys maxed out. since this is dealing with actual money i'm not sure what they can reasonably do but i figured what the hell, the golds have good TMRs and i still got a bunch of tickets from this mog king event that i haven't gotten anyway. for those saving for someone in particular, seems like an ideal way to horde tickets if you get to keep the extras.

the labor day bundle is MUCH better than advertised... because it's glitched.

see, the way it should work is that it gives you, for $7, 8 gigantaurs and 15 gil snappers (both highest levels), 3 tickets, and 250 lapis. and you can buy that up to three times.

that's not what's happening.
if you've got 23 slots free and buy all 3, then hit claim all, you'll get one at a time if you use/sell the units. but it forgets to stop counting the tickets for each "claim all," effectively adding it in. so instead of going

for a total of 18 tickets.
this is a bug where you get 18 tickets and 750 lapis for $21.


i've pulled a couple times but not all 18 yet. this is a clear glitch and i don't know how gumi reacts to these glitches - would they remove the extra 9 tickets or would they be kept? it's not a visual bug either, people have instantly used the 18 tickets too.

it makes me want to whale for Onion Knight with this, though there's that Veritas banner too.

option 2 is Ace. he definitely has to deal the 2nd most damage, DW Wild Card with Undead Killer/on Odin can win in 2 rounds.

if you're opting for 2 rounds, Fryevia becomes viable again because far as i can tell the first element he becomes weak to is Ice. just have confusion protection.

while that's "pure" solo you don't even need it that high if you include a break or buff. mine has 860 MAG and easily handles it with 5 bonus units. Sara's LB/Faith + World Destroyer/Deshell on Hein do the job. i put WD on my Aria for friend units. Faith is gotten from like 3-4 different espers.

without any of that she leaves him between 20-25%. one WD handles that.

man, i see no bonus units either.
guess i can put Aria for mine later too, then. though she'll probably stay as a 4* for a while. she's got some potential niche usage, mainly that her LB can give 100% water res if maxed out, but that's it if you've got Tilith. useful for those without Tidus or Tilith though, especially if you give her Dualcast. her TMR is a hat that can give a lot more SPR if you need it and that ain't bad.

ELT is very easy, you just need to deliver non-elemental magic damage. Dark Fina, Sea Breeze Dark Fina, ExDeath, Rem, Ace, Zyrus, Ashe, Victoria, etc. though the best of those will be DF with Ultima+2. second best... probably Wild Card Ace with Undead Killer?

edit: with the same equipment he's technically got about 100 more MAG than her, though he loses out a ton by sacrificing a +30% MAG for it, so he ends up similar to her. Wild Card is almost as strong as base Ultima but the +2 deal a less damage, did roughly 50% Hein's life to 75% of DF at 850-860 MAG. which is still good enough to solo if you've got confusion protection, it's just not enough to finish in one round.

just almost solo'd ELT with Dark Fina. i say almost because i need a Deshell/break on Hein's SPR or a Faith buff to do the job in one round. both are gotten from espers anyway.

hein's a pushover with some good mages. Ace and Dark Fina made short work of him, i assume ExDeath can kill him in 2 turns too.

...i think i'll put Dark Fina as my main here instead of Ace. dual cast Ultima+2 should be pretty much an auto-win for ELT.
edit: could use Rem too instead, if support's desired. Dark Fina i think just has the best consistent output.

Am I missing something? What's so important about 30% HP & SPR? I'd probably throw that on my Warrior of Light I guess, but why is it a priority?

i think the bahamut trial basically asks for you to have 400+ SPR units on your team to survive. safest bet being a healer who can revive everyone in one go. more people you've got with high levels of SPR, the more chance you have to survive the more difficult content.

the initial plan was Addicks tonight at 2-3AM, Barker later. both got released at the same time and when you see those links you can see why: Addicks is almost full. 101 feet right now, house flooding is just a few feet away and it's over the spillway shortly after that. that's the spillage mentioned earlier of it going out westward.

Barker was intended to be later and while the flow is slower into it, it's right at house flooding levels. this gives cause for concern due to the fact that both dams are undergoing work at the moment as they both have old infrastructure. 2015 study gave this report in 2016:

When we combined the risks associated with these two concerns with the potential consequences to the Houston metropolitan area should there be a failure, Addicks and Barker were designated as “extremely high risk”.

It is important to know that Addicks and Barker dams are not in imminent danger of failing. These two dams form reservoirs that are dry much of the time. They are continuously monitored by a full-time staff to ensure their structural integrity. But, the fact that the Houston metropolitan area is the nation’s fourth largest population center is a primary concern. Any dam safety issues at Addicks and Barker could have a far greater impact due to the magnitude of people and property downstream, as opposed to other dams around the country in rural or low-population density areas.


bold is a huge concern. the two have likely been under construction trying to be repaired until recently and no way it's a 1-2 year resolution. for the next two days both of those are going to be hit ridiculously hard and then they still will be needed at full blast for the next couple weeks after that. that's your worst case scenario and probably why military freaked out to release Barker too. they cannot risk that. where they're at right now very few know so there's no information on that right now. i'd expect in depth info on that over the next few weeks.

all this said, figure a couple important links matter for this topic because there's a very real chance that we're in for Katrina 2.0 or worse.

risk dam failure and have it overflow without any control at all. if any of the dams fail in that state the entire region - including the city of Houston - is basically gone. they're trying to minimize this overnight because in these situations there's a curfew but it's full on evacuation mode. right now the situation looks more and more like they're going to have to sacrifice as much around the city as they need to. those areas will be flooded for months. this is being done ahead of schedule because they need to.

GALVESTON, Texas– Because of the extreme nature of the ongoing weather event in the Houston area, Army Corps of Engineers officials have determined that they will likely have to release intermittent amounts of water from both Addicks and Barker reservoirs to reduce the risk to the Houston metropolitan area.

“These structures continue to perform as they were designed to do, which is to protect against flooding in downtown Houston and the Houston Ship Channel,” said Col. Lars Zetterstrom, Galveston District commander. “However, we do expect to release late this evening into early tomorrow morning.

“It is also likely that water will go over the uncontrolled spillways at the ends of both dams, as designed for large floods. If this happens, it will most likely start around the northern end of Addicks Dam, and both ends of Barker Dam,” he added.

“This flood event will exceed the 2016 tax day flood elevations. Structures will be impacted upstream from both locations; the number of structures affected will depend on weather conditions,” Zetterstrom said.

Zetterstrom explained that all roads within the Addicks and Barker area will be flooded and closed for an extended period of time until the Corps can release sufficient quantities of water and make them passible. The Corps expects to have to retain water for approximately one to three months after the rains subside. Homes upstream will be impacted for an extended period of time while water is released from the reservoirs.

“Public safety is our number one concern as we work closely with our partners - the City of Houston, Fort Bend County, Harris County and the Texas Dept. of Public Safety - to monitor the reservoirs,” said Zetterstrom. “Residents should always listen to and follow instructions of local emergency management officials.”


was an update not too long ago on that as to what they're going to do with releasing the dam. was in video that i saw on a livestream i'm watching. main relevant part:

"At the same time, as the releases are happening water continues to flow into the reservoirs from the upstream creeks. The amount of flow coming in from those creeks is going to be greater than the amount of water being let out of the dams. And so the pool - even the water that is being let out - the pool will continue to rise, and as the pool continues to rise it will back up westward into these areas."

TKO officially, McGregor's chin is just too good to not let him fall down even when he's effectively been out on his feet 2-3 punches ago. all you really need to see is the 9th and 10th round to know just how that fight ended up as.

the biggest difference between our aces come in three things:

1) mine runs DW
2) mine has dual Zyrus Rods
3) +30% MAG TMR (echidna's kiss) over Encore

i'm assuming you enhanced the ability about his LB. if you haven't, do so, the 2nd level gives him +40% MAG.

for that fight i died a few times. did use dual fryevia. i remember using the wiki for moves/setup:

bear in mind i took longer than 10 turns too so my fight got through the nasty 10 turn threshold. though you won't attack Ultros first, these three things matter a lot:

Every 3 turns: Acid Rain.
Every 6 turns: Aqua Breath.
Every 10 turns, if Typhon is still alive: Acid Rain.

Aqua Rain is not random. it wipes auto-revive so don't bother when that shows up. these matter for Typhod:

Every 4 turns: Typhon took a deep breath!, end turn. Snort.
(If damaged with wind attack (physical or magic) after taking a deep breath: Typhon's nose is itchy!, Big Sneeze, end turn.)
Every 10 turns, if Orthros is still alive: Toxic Rain.


basically be sure you've got the Survivor's Knife equipped to WoL so when you attack, wind element kicks in and you don't lose a guy.

i had WoL/Rikku/Tilith/Fryevia/Fryevia. i'm not sure you want to do the 5 man challenge immediately, you'll miss out on Toxic Rain your first time around but you'll get Rod Mastery, Hero's Shield, and a 10% Moogle for a second round through it. i just made sure WoL had his personal provoke on, broke, and Rikku/Tilith alternated between full revivals + Rikku's LB.



you could try using this reddit guide too that seems to use Setzer instead.
