Very different movie from the first one. First felt way tighter and "perfect" while this one had some not-great and even cringey moments. That said, I feel like the character development here was way stronger (except for Star Lord, oddly enough, and Groot since he's basically just a comic-relief baby here) Some of the sequences (Yondu's big scene, Rocket in the woods) feel head-and-shoulders above the first movie, too. Villain was one of Marvel's better offerings, too. That says basically nothing, but I actually thought he was pretty well done.

To sum it up, I'd say the first movie is darn close to flawless while this one has lower lows and higher highs. I'm not even sure which I prefer at this point.

Xander sucks. He needs Brave Sword, but his schtick is his 5* weapon, but it's not worth 20k feathers since he still won't be able to kill anything without help.

Xander is a beastly unit for a Horse Emblem team. Might not be too crazy on his own but it's insane they gave a unit that good as a freebie.

Started work on my new PC build, hung out with the gf and her friends on Saturday, and played Persona 5 all day today. Hard to complain! More excited for a Monday than I've been in a good while - my video card is coming, and that's the last component I'm waiting on! Tomorrow night's going to be so fun.~

I mean, I guess it technically is? It doesn't seem like one use of the ability is enough to jump straight to a rank up in most cases so there's still a lot of days where I either burn a day getting points or just raise social stats. The way I heard people talking about it I thought every day would be just paying her and then going to go get a rank up, but it's not actually that broken, lol.

Finally got Fortune rank 7! From how I heard people talking about it I kind of assumed it would just completely break the game and I'd never have to spend time actually hanging out with people, but it looks like that's not completely the case. Oh well, still an insanely useful ability!

First four months of the year have been some of the best in gaming history, IMO, way too much good stuff. I'm only about halfway(?) done but P5 is looking like an easy winner already. Following behind are Yakuza 0 and Zelda, in that order. Haven't finished Nier or Berseria, but I'm partway into both. Still need to pick up Nioh, Puyo Puyo Tetris, and Gravity Rush 2. X_X

I finished Route A on the eve of Persona 5. Felt like it was as good of a stopping point as I could possibly ask for. Already liking the game quite a bit but knowing Yoko Taro I've yet to see 90% of what makes the game really good. Can't wait to get back to it, but P5 is legit impossible to tear away from so it's going to be a little longer. >_>

Just played a 4 player free for all EDH game with my gf's friends. Went the entire game, like 40 minutes or something without summoning a single creature while mostly just watching people do seemingly endless combos to flood their board (borrowed a deck.) Pretty sure this game isn't for me. >_>

I think I was more hype for MvC3 than anyone on this board (I definitely made the most topics, at least >_>) and this game isn't even remotely doing anything for me based on what we've seen. I also hate MvC3 now though so who knows if that means anything.

How does that even happen? I'm in July and I'm already doing way better than this. >_>

That would probably help a ton though, it feels like even for the main party a huge chunk of character quality is nestled away in their confidants.

Having only finished up to 3, I'm at 1 > 3 > 2. Overall design of 1 is the one to beat at the moment, but 3 had easily my favorite boss so far.

For me it's the same thing that stops me from being interested in any of these types of games. Once you rise above the limited resources you realize striving for the top is way more "fun" than actually having what you need and playing. Now that I have a skill-complete core of Eirika, Ninian, and Nino I effectively have no reason to ever pull another unit unless they introduce some broken skill that destroys the meta. All I "need" to do now is collect my log-in bonuses and play at least 7 arena matches a week.

Edit: Added quotation marks to "fun." It's really more about manipulation with these games than actually enjoying yourself because of good design or what-have-you. >_>

I liked P4A but never got around to playing the sequel. Labrys's story mode was a top tier moment in the series for me to be honest. (I did enjoy the gameplay also, but at the end of the day I am a Persona fan and not a 2D fighter fan)

P4AU is a big upgrade in all ways (especially in making the story continuous instead of the same thing with variations an agonizing number of times,) but it never quite hits the high of Labrys's story.

some of the adult characters dialogue in particular is maybe a little too literal in terms of translation but like if you watch anime you should be used to doing some mental conversions of what the translation is vs what the actual intent if the line is

This is exactly what happens when I play with Japanese audio, I have to imagine it's a bit more jank when playing the dub though.

Performance is always better on PC if you have the hardware. In this case, the required hardware is a toaster so yes, it's much better. Getting the Orange Box on consoles is like getting StarCraft on N64. (Okay, maybe not THAT bad.)

I talk kind of loudly and I occasionally feel bad if I let swears slip/don't notice when a kid is around. Not the end of the world but feels like you generally shouldn't do it. If we're talking actually swearing AT children, that's not cool in the fucking least.

Stuff like TurboTax makes it more a matter of being lazy than dumb for most people. If you have actually crazy shit going on with your taxes that goes beyond what simple software can help with, you can't really be faulted for having someone else do them IMO.
