You don't even try to hide your fanboyism

I'll give you props for that

I'm not a fanboy. But I hate the DCEU because we're basically stuck with these garbage ass DC movies for the foreseeable future.

Their over-emphasis on trying so hard to NOT be superhero movies makes them not even resemble the comic books that I've read and it wouldn't be so bad if they didn't also fail at being intellectually engaging.

In fact, this exact dynamic existed back in days with the Spider-Man and X-Men movies. Spider-Man kept in tact what we liked about the comic books and captured the fun of the character. The X-Men movies failed to capture the best elements of the X-Men comic books, but at least the X-Men movies (for the most part) were decent.

They didn't think she was worth it. So they cut her pay.

They didn't think she was worth it, even though they kept her around for 40 years when they apparently could have gotten somebody fresh to fill her role this whole time? That's not making much sense and it's especially not making sense when you consider they asked for her to come back for half a paycheck, when it would have been easier to get and train somebody new for the position, who wouldn't feel bitter and entitled to more pay, if the position is apparently so easy that anybody can do it.

This is all also assuming that they're going to keep somebody in the same exact position for 40 years.

Hell, even after a year or so, the company starts expecting more of you and asks you to do more. I've had coworkers there that were gradually moved up the ladder (with pay raises) and then were kicked back down to the status of regular cashiers in favor of some new blood that didn't know their respective department nearly as well and didn't even end up staying with the job that long. By then, the veterans end up leaving, and you're stuck trying to find somebody that can do their job as efficiently as the veteran.

And if you've never worked a certain position at a particular company, then it'd be best if you didn't make claims about what that position entails and make snap judgments about their value.

Yeah places do this all the time even though it's technically illegal. After someone has been there for that long they're usually way overpaid for the position

I used to work at a supermarket and one of the bakery guys had been there for like 20+ years. He made $28 per hour just putting frozen cookies in the oven all day. You could train a 10 year old to do that

EXACTLY. Voice of reason.

It's a two-way street. She's the one who invested 40 years of her life in a dead-end Walgreens job. Did she go back to school at any point? Or perhaps try and gain a license to sell Insurance or some ways to increase her income/skillset? Or did she just...pretty much go to Wal-greens every day for 40 years?

Then you can just flip it to "Why would you keep an employee around for 40 years and let them make that much money if you don't think they and/or the position is worth it?"

This guy must be like 16, because he has no idea how this type of shit works.

A person who has worked for a company for 40 years, knows more about the company than ANYBODY else there, even more than many of the managers do. On top of that, they have the type of experience that a high schooler or recent college grad won't have.

It's not just about "hurr durr she rung up cashiers for 40 years". Even if she's not in management, she'd be one of the people you turn to when it comes to daily store operations when nobody else knows what the hell to do.

However, BLM is about exaggerating a narrative that it's "open season" on black people and that cops are systematically oppressing and murdering blacks without repercussion. This is complete horseshit, and all it does it confirm victim complexes (in people like you) and push people who feel like their lives are in danger into committing violence (like the Dallas sniper).

And this is where you show your complete ignorance regarding race relations.

BLM didn't do shit but publicize a notion that blacks have thought for literal decades, whether you believe it to be an exaggerated narrative or not. People like you who don't actually know anything about the black community (yet feel qualified to comment on it all the time) are just now seeing the boiling point of the tension between blacks and police that have built up over YEARS and are assuming that BLM is responsible for it, when in all actuality they are a BYPRODUCT of it.

Black people didn't need fucking BLM to happen to be scared of the police. What an idiotic notion.
