I would put Hollow Knight in a tier of its own above the rest. I'd recommend it over the other three to anyone.

After that, Ori is my second pick. It has strong visuals and music, good platforming, and a simple but poignant story. Combat is weak and there are a few short sections of trial-and-error that break the pacing at the most inopportune times. However, the good far outweighs the bad.

Violating one's right to free expression is one of the reason why threats are illegal

Threats are not a violation of 1A though. Again, 1A strictly issues negative commands against the gov't. SCOTUS ruled that threatening speech is not protected under 1A, meaning that you can be arrested if you make a specific, true threat. In other words, 1A can't be used as a defense if you violate US Code.

If you're going to use a phrase like "right to free expression," it helps to specify which one you're talking about. Are you talking about California's affirmative free speech policy? If so, I don't necessarily disagree with you. However, the boundaries seem to be poorly defined by the case literature that I've read.

Free speech under the 1A is merely a negative command to the gov’t. On the other hand, free speech under the CA state constitution is an affirmative right (which has been further liberally interpreted by the CA Supreme Court). SCOTUS upheld CA’s right to broaden free speech rights under Pruneyard Shopping Center v. Robins, though the boundaries of this decision are still being tested.

At UC Berkeley, where the recent Milo and Ann Coulter events were shut down, I would argue that it's unclear whether the speakers' affirmative free speech rights were violated by the Antifa rioters who made specific threats. However, their 1A rights were clearly not violated.

They didn't have as many announcements to work with since they unloaded a lot of the big guns last year, but they checked in on their biggest franchises and had a neat, stylistic presentation.

I dunno why everyone is harping on Bethesda for not having an hour+ long conference. They're not as big as the other publishers and console developers. I'd rather have a nice, light 30-minute show than have them skip a year and go radio silent like Square Enix.

Work crushes are gonna happen. It's a fact of life-- a simple matter of biology. And jealousy is a normal reaction to that. Just don't let it fester, and don't try to be the Thought Police.

That said, it's kind of not cool that she's disrespecting you behind your back, in front of her friends. That's not the way you treat a serious, long-term partner. If you truly love someone, you should protect them from gossip, not make them the subject of it. I don't think that she's broken the implicit bf/gf contract but I would be kind of annoyed with her. That shit certainly doesn't fly once you marry someone, imo.

I would continue to trust but verify. Her texts demonstrate that she's exercising some degree of self-control in the face of temptation. But it's also possible that she's fishing for encouragement from her friends.

It's easy for people to get excited about her because she's new and doesn't have much of a record to pick apart yet. She performed well in her CA US Senate election debate, and she looked like the smartest person in the room at the Sessions testimony... so I can see the potential, but that's not enough to start the Harris 2020 rallying cry just yet.

...disparaged Feminism-- but later ammended this to Modern Feminism-- for being a pendulum that swung too far (I believe that the "Feminism" moniker can still be saved from radical Feminists).

Soret has consistently preached egalitarian principles the whole time. His only mistake was fighting for/against the wrong labels. It's messy business when conflicting ideologies fight for ownership of a movement. I can easily forgive him for being a little slow to sort it out.

To be clear, I'm not defending the decision to put vital (imo) scenes exclusively in Kingsglaive. It is what it is.

I started playing the game first, and like I said, the story felt disjointed. I was learning about big story developments through newspapers and radio reports. I didn't feel like I was in a hurry to get to Altissia because I hardly knew who Luna was. The story was lacking propulsion. So I paused and watched the movie. It took care of all of those problems.

I would recommend the anime too. The material covered in the anime is truly optional but adds some depth to the main characters.

Not sure why you're so uncomfortable about male relationships, but to address a couple of other points:

1. The story, as presented by the game alone, is disjointed. I'd recommend watching Kingsglaive (it fills in some important story details that happen off-screen in the game, and also provides motivation).

2. It took me a while to warm up to the Photography system too. Just go with it and I promise it will pay off. It has one of the best pay-offs in the entire game, actually.

I don't think I would go quite that far... the N64 era was transformative for many franchises. The leap from 2D to 3D is the kind of paradigm shift that may only happen two or three times in our lifetimes. None of these Switch games are as Earth-shattering as Super Mario 64, GoldenEye, Ocarina of Time...

However, I'd say that this is probably the most promising lineup Nintendo's had since the Gamecube.
