No, it was divided before the war. Korea's divided because it was controlled by Japan since 1910, and when Japan was defeated, it was liberated by the Allies. Like Germany, 1/2 of it was occupied by the Soviets and the other 1/2 by the USA. The Soviets occupied the North and set up a Communist pro-Soviet government. The Americans set up a pro-western government in the South. After the US and Soviet occupation ended, there were 2 rival governments in Korea who couldn't agree on reunion.
