I'm curious to know how bad the average driver is in people's areas. My area I get people that jump the curb, miss red lights by several seconds, drive 65 when the speed limit is 60 but won't drive 65 when the speed limit is 65.

My city has 2 universities and our state's largest community college, so naturally the drivers here are pretty awful.

Except when school is out, then it becomes a lot more tolerable

In my area they drive decently, but some:
- come to a complete stop before turning, causing traffic clog
- drives 10-15 mph above the speed limit
- Do not know how to use blinkers
- drive 5-10 mph below the speed limit (my biggest gripe)

I've seen a crapton of examples of bad drivers in my area but the worst was someone driving on the wrong side of the street and the street had a median

Fucking how

might be a Maryland thing

I saw someone going through an exit in the opposite direction more than once, and I'm not even sure how you can position your car like that without realizing you're going the wrong way

They're actually pretty good. Most people signal in advance, most people drive at or around the limit, most are attentive at lights and observe 4 way stops correctly.

The big thing that irks me is that half the folks don't understand what to do at a blinking light (yellow=you have right of way, proceed with caution. Red=you do not have right of way, wait until it's clear)

Lmfao

A less severe example of both that I see almost literally every single day is people driving in lanes while flat out ignoring the huge red X LED hanging above that lane

I lived in Maryland this summer and thought that the drivers were pretty bad.

But then someone pointed out that the way things are laid out, it's basically designed to make you fail, so I forgave them.

People think they are good drivers and everyone else sucks.

Drive fast = Maniac!
Drive slow = Idiot!

still trying to determine if DC drivers are worse than the ones in Baltimore or the other way around, it's hard to tell

I don't think there is a roundabout in my city that doesn't consistently have a sign or pole that doesn't need replacing due to drivers hitting them.

Same. Compared to big cities I've been to, the drivers in my small-ish city are relatively considerate and traffic is wonderful. But of course everyone here complains about how bad the drivers are. People just love to bitch.

Not too bad. People are incredibly patient and polite hardly ever honk their horns or get into arguments with other drivers. The only problem is when people,--most likely tourists--drive too slowly because they want to take in the scenery.
