With my hours, it's almost impossible for me to save up for anything. The visit to my clinic a few days ago costed me $180 because they decided they wanted to do a blood test. -_- Then I learned Walgreens charges a little more than Walmart, and I had to spend $80 for the hormone blockers. Now I probably have to spend another $60 to have my estradial shipped to me. I can't even save up for facial hair removal, facial reconstruction, a voice change, or even a name change, let alone a sex change. Besides, it would probably be pointless for someone with a body like mine anyway... ;_;

It took me 10 years to save up where I am today. You have to learn to cut back a lot. I don't have an iPhone or smart phone. I use a flip phone. I don't own a car, I use public transit. I reach out to LGBT allies for connections to who would help me. I live with my family so I can save that money with a roof over my head, but I am lucky to have a supportive one.

It sounds like you don't have insurance too. I pay 10 dollars per month for E and S each. So you have insurance? That is a very, very high cost you have.

Everything is one step at a time. I hope you don't buy clothes.

Nah. If you have kind of an androgynous name, like Jamie, you can probably just keep it. If your name is Carl, or Matthew, you would probably want to change it legally for your own personal social reasons.
