14 year old Kid dismantled a clock and brought it into school to show off to his teachers (apparently he used to do this quite a lot)

The dismantled clock looked like a stereotypical bomb. Teacher told him to stop showing it off. Kid continued to show it to more people/teachers and was acting superweird and awkward. Even more so than usual.

Teacher thought it was a bomb hoax as a joke/prank and called the police.

Police came to the school. Kid was interrogated by the police for 100 minutes, told he would be expelled unless he signed a confession, dragged to a police station through the school in handcuffs without being allowed to contact his parents (or anyone else) and then had his mugshot taken before he was booted out. Then he was suspended.

Kid's dad flipped out, sued everything that moved and danced around in the spotlight. Liberals ate up the spectacle of racial abuse among police. Kid got loads of free stuff, money, tuition payments, free trip to Mecca, got to go the white house and more.

Conservatives got furious because the kid is a douche and it very much seems like the whole thing was staged by the dad for money and attention.

At the best the dad made a meal of the whole thing once it had occurred.

Now Ahmed has become a pseudo-celebrity and a symbol.

To liberals he is a symbol of abuse and racism.
To conservatives he is a symbol of SJW nonsense and con artists playing liberals like fiddles.

As such if mentioned on the internet, arguments ensue like lambs to the slaughter

Honestly if interviewers were stuffing their sticks in my 14 year old son or daughter's face and he was being tossed on television, I would want to be there with him unless he asked me not to be.

It's a Liberal Arts college. The base level of intelligence required to attend is a chequebook.

That said, I still don't agree. I think it's a mistake to ruin people's lives forever because they had an unpopular dumb opinion when they were a kid. And it's a terrible message to send to people.

I do like how the movie explained every aspect of his suit. Nothing was arbitrarily. His cape, the pointed ears, the fins on his gauntlet; everything was there for a reason.

And at the same time, they never let the realism or attempt to explain how this insanity makes sense get in the way of having fun.

So he's still diving out a window while on fire and summoning an army of bats.

Rewatched it the other day and it's a fantastic movie. It balances the line of being realistic enough to somehow actually feel believable in it's own world, while still being crazy combic book nonsense.

It's the best telling of Batman's origin story while working it the movie's own developing plot.

Nolan's "Everyone talks like a philosopher trying to get on Wiki-Quote" style really suits it.

The action scenes are great, the plot is good if a little absurd with the water into gas machine.

So many memorable moments. And it has good morals too for kids. "It's not who you are underneath but what you do that defines you." and "Why do we fall? So we can learn to pick ourselves back up again." are actually cool things to tell kids.

The Dark Knight's "Lying is a good thing and humans aren't quite as evil as the Joker in the crunch." wasn't really much of a moral.

And just compare it to other superhero movies. Spiderman 3 and The Amazing Spiderman got flack for having too many villains. This has Falcone, Scarecrow, Ra's, Zsasz, Loeb and they all have a charater arc.

Sure it has flaws, some of the editing is weird and the fact Rachel get her ex killed by pushing into a case he didn't want to do, then noboy talks it... Is a little weird. But it's an amazing film.

The Dark Knight is a great action movie. Tim Burton's Batman is a fun movie and both Batman Forever and the Adam West Batman movie are hilarious.

But Batman Begins just feels like the best movie. From start to finish.

I don't know if it's fair to put voter ID laws along side wanting to deport illegal immigrants as if they're on the same level.

Voter ID laws are just blatantly fucking with people.

They're some of the most popular games ever made but it seems like people on here don't talk about them much.

I used to play the Fifa games from 95 up to about 2002. Although I bought Fifa 2014 for the PS2 because the idea of a NEW PS2 game at that point was really fun.
