they've created a perfect and foolproof method of elimination that's safe for pets and humans and can clear an infestation, no matter how bad, in just two weeks, usually less. and pesticide regulators are sitting on their hands instead of turning the green lights on. it's just like... why. what. no. it should be out. it should be everywhere. the epidemic is growing out of all control, hundreds of thousands of homes infested and a good chunk of them probably don't even know yet.

Except nowhere in the games does it state or even imply the Church is involved in Lisa's burning. In SotN, all you see are townsfolk burning her on a cross. There's one sprite of presumably a priest holding a cross up to her in the back of the mob, but that's it. Not to mention the Church is literally one of the biggest universal forces for good in the series. Several important symbols in Christian mythos is used to fight against enemy monsters (Cross, Bible, Holy water, etc.) as subweapons, and there are multiple times when the Church provides aid to the protagonists, like Vincent helping Charlotte and Jonathan in Portait of Ruin and Yoko in Aria of Sorrow. Further, there are numerous times in the games when an item of holy origin is the most powerful piece of equipment - God's Garb in SotN, the Claimh Solais in Aria, etc.

Leon Belmont, the founder of the Belmont clan, was a holy knight working for the Church. Mathias Cronqvist, before becoming Dracula, was also working for the Church. The reason why he abandoned his post? Because his wife died of natural causes. (not Lisa, his first wife).

My point is that the Church has never been used to show that it causes any sort of supernatural evil in the series. You might have an exile, a zealot, here or there, with the express intent to cause evil, but it's never the body of the Church that causes Dracula to rise from his grave.

I pretty much agree, TC. I think it's okay, but I really didn't like the way Trevor or the Church was portrayed; it was pretty antithetical to the games.

How old was he?

We don't know. He never told us, he was like that. We knew he had a tumor behind his eye, but he refused to go to a doctor. He was definitely in his age, however. His own dad passed away when he was almost 100, and that was about five years ago.

Now that I've had the opportunity to speak with my mom in length, apparently it wasn't in his sleep. Not entirely. He was awake and in the hospital before he finally passed on.

If there's one thing that's legitimately great about the Castlevania anime, it's the dubbing. Dracula in particular sounds amazing, which almost feels like a mythology gag considering Dracula has always sounded really hammy in the localized games.

I don't understand the hate, either. It's still an adequate game where Batman's abilities aren't diminished in the presence of a forced gimmick ala Arkham Knight and the boss fights are the best in the series. Sure, the formula may have been stale by this point but even cold pizza is still tasty.
