To elaborate a bit, the gameplay has a good core, but lacks depth, you never feel like you get into the 'meat' of the combat after that initial grasp of the different attacks, links, and skills. What works at the beginning of the game works at the end of the game.

The story itself is good, but the exposition is terrible. Barely any characters exist outside the main party for more than a few scenes. Characters that you think are going to be important to the plot are simply discarded one way or another. A story is there, but the game really only gives you hints about it.

The presentation is really the only great part about the game, that they didn't drop the ball on. Environments, machines, and monsters all look great and are animated well. The musical score is that great epic fantasy score as usual from Yoko Shimomura.

Another huge gripe is that the final boss battle in the game is terrible and your preparations didn't matter, nothing in-game reached the hype that was the ending fight scene of Kingsglaive either.

All in all a game that you can see the potential in as you are playing it, but square enix didn't flesh out on,

The mobile game is absolute trash and square enix has nothing to do with it. Avoid it. The company that is running is known for making terrible mobile cash grinds, and then advertising them relentlessly.

I think unit placement mattering adds a lot of depth to these games. Yugioh actually reworked some of its mechanics and added a new card type that makes placement matter recently.

It is well polished which is a big part of its success. Scrolls is indeed good, I like Duelyst's design a lot as well.

Yes, for costumes and optionally for characters (characters can be purchased with earned currency as well). Street Fighter doesn't have a randomized loot box system like Injustice that can be a real cash-drain, is what I was saying.

I played for a few months, I think it is one of the better f2p mobile games, actually has a decent core of gameplay to it, but eventually falls into the paywall/grindwall which is why I stopped playing, when you have to play for weeks to upgrade a card you use there isn't any point.

I played Gone Home back when it was relatively new, and liked the presentation and flow of discovering about family members from their possessions but disliked the story's focus being on a spoiled child who stole from her family in order to fund a bad decision and found the subplots to be much more interesting. And most of all I disliked the length of the game.
