To be fair, you only really find out that the small island is separate from the living area in the second game when some scenes actually SHOW it from the main island.

Actually when Sora is in his room in the first game he looks out his window and you can see the island you play on in the distance. Also when he gets there he points out that Riku and Kairi's boats are there implying that they rowed over from somewhere else

They're impulsive. I feel like most of the time their hearts are in the right place, but they forget to look before they leap.

Nobodies really don't make much sense. We're told in KH2 that they don't experience basic human emotions due to lacking a heart (a soul essentially), but repeatedly we see them demonstrate actual emotions such as in CoM when Vexen is genuinely terrified right before Axel offs him.

Really we see it in all of the Org members who each have distinct personalities and feelings toward one another. KH2 tries to tell us that, no they're just pretending to have emotions, but that literally makes no fucking sense. You mean to tell me that Demyx being an apathetic coward is an act? That Larxene being a sadist is completely non-genuine? The truth is that Nomura makes this shit up as he goes.

They explain this in DDD. Xemnas tells Sora that he lied to all of Org XIII because them experiencing emotions and regrowing their hearts would have interfered with his (Xehanort's) plans, as Xehanort wanted to make them all vessels for his own heart. This explains the emotions we see in Axel and others.

Also, in regards to Roxas, he's even more of an exception to this considering that I'm pretty sure it's strongly implied that he has Ventus's heart. Hence the whole appearance thing and Roxas experiencing emotions like right off the bat, pretty much. I don't think this has ever been confirmed, though; only that his appearance is due to Ventus's heart being within Sora's.

TC, do NOT read these spoilers. They spoil very significant things about the series.

I understand the exception with Roxas. I am convinced the other members having hearts was a retcon.
