This was the last conference and I was expecting it to show up on Sony's of all places. I severely doubt it'll end up on the Switch either. Why doesn't Capcom just up and admit that they never were working on it to begin with?

It's unrelated to any other game in the series. The game is set so far into the future that you don't have to worry about prerequisites.
