Ishgard sells level 50-60 gear (except accessories) now. Red Mage uses the same gear as Black Mage and Summoner. Also you are guaranteed a drop you can use on your job at the end of any Heavensward or Stormblood dungeon now.

Red Mage is actually really simple. Use one of Jolt/Verfire/Verstone (preferring the later two as they are more potency), then use one of Veraero/Verthunder (whichever one you have less mana of- for instance if you have 20 white and 30 black, you would use Veraero). Lather, rinse, repeat until you hit 80/80 or above on your mana gauge. Once you have, do your melee combo.

Use Acceleration and Fleche on cooldown.

That about does it for your starting skills.

That's all a big help. You're right that red mage is more than likely pretty simple, it's just getting back into the MMO playstyle that is tripping me up. I might go back to using a controller.

I was able to max out Rain, get Lasswell to level 86, and get Fina to max level 5*. I might actually spend time getting cactuars this weekend for Fina/Sakura/whoever the 5th person will be since this king mog currency is coming in so fast I basically got everything I wanted already.

I've really enjoyed what I've played so far of Horizon. Don't know if this a good indicator but I just completed the first Cauldron sidequest I came across. The stealth in this game is easy and fun in a way i was not expecting.

Battlefield 1 is hard to say, it does have a decent singleplayer campaign. I guess if you really like FPSes you can give it a shot, I sorta liked what I played of it but it didn't catch my interest enough to complete it.

If the other team is truly so fast, what is to stop Wonder Black from launching his wonder bomb that slows down all enemies in a huge area to a crawl? Not that that's really needed but the W100 have the best tool against fast characters in the game.
