Yeah ok I think I'm going to run with this Hercules / Jeanne account for now. The only character I'm really missing from my older account that I would want is Cu Chulainn but hopefully he will show up sooner or later.

If I'm going to reroll and start over it has to be almost exactly what I want or something so good like 3 5*s that I'd be crazy not to take it. I wouldn't be satisfied with any 4* besides Hercules or Tamamo, I think.

I know Waver is supposed to be really good, but I'm not excited to get him and so many people have him as their support unit he is not hard to find.

As far as atilla's ranking, the 5*s are being judged against the other 5*s so her and even Saber are still very good in the grand scheme of things.

Out of the 5*s I think Atilla the hun , Jeanne and Vlad all look pretty cool. The problem for me with Vlad is that if I'm already hunting for Herc to be my tutorial guy, I'm less enthused about getting another berserker especially since I'll be able to pick tamamo eventually if I want. I also base what I want off of the character rankings I've found on this site:

I think the only TMR that I could grind that could help out is magistral crest, and vanille is now on my TMR team so that will happen eventually. Now my tmr team has 2x Leon and 2x Shine to eventually combine and help Tidus.

Does the whole "complete the missions then escape" thing work for trials? For the missions that don't need you kill the boss, like using libra.

Also, while I knew ascending changed their portraits I did not know it could also change their in-battle sprites. That's cool.

I ascended Hercules and F/SN Lancer. Lancer is now way better than my Emiya, at least stats-wise plus his NP is leveled up a bunch.

I disagree that the game and cast are bad (in particular I think the main 4 were well done), but I do agree that Ardyn is great.

I think my favorite scene with Nier is the one with him when he fights the Shadowlord. His refusal to ever see things from the Shadowlord's perspective even when it is so close to his own shows the kind of guy he is. I do put Neir in the same places as Joel from the last of us, in that they are good characters but not likable people and in some places you don't want them to succeed.

How many of the servants in this game are completely new to F/GO? Like in general if I see a character from outside of F/SN or Fate/Zero, will they usually be from some other thing or wholly made up for GO?

No, you don't NEED to play the original Nier. Mostly anything from the original game that appears in Automata is explained well enough (then again, as someone who did play Nier maybe I'm not the best judge for well things are explained to new players). I think there are also some story beats that will be more of a surprise to new players.
