But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.

IIRC, in Creature Commandos they state that Task Force X got shut down by the government because of human rights abuse, so Waller takes advantage of a loophole and creates 'Task Force M' because all of its members are monsters and other creatures considered to be non-human.

At the end of Creature Commandos, we see that Nanaue joins the team, while Weasel was a member from the start.
Spoilers for Creature Commandos: I find that "loophole" with Task Force M to be so odd. I'd give them that Weasel, G.I. Robot, and Nanaue may not be humans, but Doctor Phosphorous and Nina were explicitly just altered humans. I not sure why they'd be considered less human than any random metahuman on Earth. I guess it could maybe be debatable about whether or not the Bride is "human," but being a reanimated person comprised of the parts of various humans seems like it should make her qualify as being human in my opinion.

I don't know about better than FF6 but it's absolutely better than FF5. The only thing FF5 does better which is kind of subjective is that it gives you all the jobs upfront and without any limits.
Well, the FFV jobs are limited by various jobs only becoming available as you collect the various crystals. Dimensions gives you some jobs at the end of each episodes, I believe, but it has an extra limitation in needing to spend a "finite" resource to level up your characters' jobs to higher levels (I'm pretty sure that resource isn't actually finite once you beat the story though). That does limit your ability to grind and power level the jobs during the game, but I would liken that limitation to having to be more strategic in how you have the characters specialize sort of like how the license boards used to work in FFXII The Zodiac Age (you can continuously reset the boards nowadays).

It would be cool, I think, if you were gonna remake it, that post game it stitches together all the worlds into one continuous world and allows you to recruit the various temps into your permanent party roster and have a postgame dungeon although the game itself already has a pretty robust postgame.

A segment where you're split into two parties but can actually choose who goes in what party would be sweet.
I'd love that, and I think it would make the finale much more interesting.

Someone would probably complain about it anyway because it "doesn't have airships" or some other ridiculous nonsense but the game otherwise totally feels like it belongs on the SNES.

You could probably just lie to someone about it and say it was mostly finished but cancelled SNES game and they would probably believe you.
I'm sure some people would complain (mostly because those people are actually looking for nostalgia and not looking for a good game), but I think a lot of people would very much see the game as the love letter to the NES and SNES-eras of Final Fantasy that it is. It genuinely feels like someone put the job system and gameplay of FFV into a more series world like FFIV. I'm not sure I'd go so far as to say that Dimensions is better than FFVI, but it's certainly not far behind in my opinion (and above pretty much every other 2D Final Fantasy game for me).

I think Dimensions could definitely use some tweaking, especially in regards to the episodic format it was originally presented in, but I think a Pixel Remaster-style remake would do wonders for this game and for the fans of earlier Final Fantasy games.

Im not in favor of gerrymandering, so please no one take my question to be a stealth way of supporting it:

If there were no gerrymandering of any kind, how would the district boundaries be determined? Would it be, likelaying a square grid across a map of the country and then just roll with the divisions the grid reflects? Or do you go within each state individually and base the divisions around geographic things like rivers and whatnot?
Setting the districts up in grid patterns may look nice on a map, but it doesn't really solve the problem since people don't actually live in grid patterns. And population centers like major cities will inherently need more districts in order to be able to more evenly represent the larger amount of people in those areas. Using independent commissions to draw districts following each census is the real answer to stop gerrymandering, but setting that up requires lawmakers to willingly give up the power to draw their own districts.

Ideally, a district would be able to elect someone who represents the majority of the voters within while also separating different groups that might hold different values, even if those groups tend to both vote for a specific party (both black and Hispanic populations tend to favor the Democratic party, but having one representative to represent both in an area may not align with the values of one of the two groups). Obviously that's a lot easier said than done since drawing districts requires a lot of balancing between various demographics like ethnicities, age brackets, income levels, etc. But at the very least, you'd expect that a majority black area would be part of a single district and able to more likely elect someone who would best represent them and their values instead of being split apart and being wrapped into the tail end of multiple districts with different demographics which is what happens when political parties are directly drawing the maps.

I'll preface this by saying that I think James Gunn did a good job making the trunks look good in this movie without them looking awkward or out of place, but I think the problem with things like Superman's trunks comes with bringing the costume into live action.

Most people don't seem bothered by seeing the trunks on the pages of a comic book, but within those pages, it looks like most superheroes are just wearing a colorful, skintight, spandex outfit. Trying to exactly replicate that visual when bringing the suits to live action would likely end up looking a little silly and cheap. That's why modern superhero movies often opt for costumes that look like they have texture and could "realistically" be made and hold up to the adventures the heroes go through (some suspension of disbelief required).

As for breaking up the visual flow of Superman's costume a bit, doing something like using a full, wraparound belt like Superman's New 52 costume could also work for that. Snyder's Superman suit from both MoS and BvS tried to make something similar to the New 52 outfit, but the belt part of those suits also being mostly blue doesn't exactly help break up the overall look of the suit (though there is a slim gold line around the waist in both).

For what felt like forever, probably over a decade (basically the entire trash snyder run and then some) DC has been touting their amazingly garbage logo as so:

https://i0.wp.com/ifanboy.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/New-DC-Logo_Blue.jpg
DC hasn't been using that logo for nearly a decade at this point (it was used from 2012 - 2016). They were using this one from 2016 until last year.

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/3/39985fc0.png

But now I was recently watching Kite Man and Creature Commandos and the design is different, it's like the classic DC design or something:

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/71/DC_Comics_2024.svg/1200px-DC_Comics_2024.svg.png

What's up with that? Could it be James Gunn related? Like he's making DC back to being good at the core level? Like they're going back to their roots of what made them great and paying respect to their much beloved properties?
That's the new logo that they switched to in 2024. It's very obviously designed to look almost identical to the old, pre-2000s logo.

But otherwise, I don't think the commentary is really necessarily. I know people had qualms with the New 52 era overall, but that era ended in like 2016. DC comics (the "core level" of the brand) have consistently had fantastic runs for a long time at this point.

  • Gundam Wing - This series just oozes 90s anime style and cringe in a way that can get a little annoying as an adult, but it's a genuinely good show overall. It's a good war story with good action and decent political drama, but it's focused through this lens of broodiness that may not be everyone's cup of tea. And be careful not to cut yourself on all of that 90s edge!
  • The Origin - This is a prequel story to the original Gundam series that focuses on the story of one of the main antagonists, Char. It's a fun story with good animation and action as well as pretty nice political drama, but it falls short with a lot of people because this Char is shown quite a bit differently than the Char from the original Gundam series onward. I wouldn't recommend this as a starting point, but I would still recommend still watching this one at some point after seeing the original Gundam series.
  • Iron-Blooded Orphans- This one is a fairly modern series set within a pretty brutal world. If you're looking more for a "horrors of war" kind of story, then this is probably the one I'd recommend. It's definitely not a very happy story. The first season is fantastic, but the second season is only "pretty good" in my opinion since it never quite hits the same stride.
  • Gundam 00 - A fantastic series that I can't recommend enough! If you only want to watch one of the longer Gundam series, this is the one I'd pick for newcomers. It has great action sequences, the animation is still good enough to not feel dated, and it has a good mix of drama and character development! There is also a movie set after the series called A Wakening of the Trailblazer that is generally seen as a bit of a black sheep, but I'd still recommend watching the movie if you enjoyed 00.
  • 08th MS Team - This one takes place during the middle of the original series, but it is a stand alone story that requires very little knowledge of the original series to appreciate. I tend to find this one to be more of a love story set in the middle of a war rather than just a straight up war story though, so I think it's worth keeping that in mind. If you are looking for a short series to wet your whistle and dip a toe into the Gundam universe (specifically the Universal Century timeline), this is a great place to start. And it's a fantastic series to boot!
  • Unicorn - Unicorn is what got me back into Gundam as an adult. It has great animation, but while I think you can certainly start here if you'd like, Unicorn is very much intended to be a sequel series. As such, you would likely get a much better understanding of the details if you watch the previous entries in the UC first, but I think you can still follow along with the main story of Unicorn just fine if you just want to jump right in.
  • Seed Freedom - I haven't watched this movie yet, but it's a sequel to Seed Destiny (itself a sequel to the original Seed). I'd recommend holding off on this one until you've watched Seed and Seed Destiny if you can. The Seed stories have a bit of melodrama that was typical of anime series at the time, but they're both very good. And don't let the naysayers dissuade you from at least looking into Destiny! It's still an above average story with great action, but it just falls a bit short of being as good as Seed was (because Seed itself is excellent).

So other than the nonsense involving the Golden Snitch (enormous point value and the game only ends once it's been caught), what is the problem everyone has with the rules of Quidditch?

I've had several games over the years that caught my interest (either through their overall appeal or because I had friends that liked them) that I ultimately didn't enjoy. Off the top of my head, I really wanted to like Diablo 3, Bloodborne, and Nioh when I played them, but they just weren't for me.

Yes, and I desperately wish they were remaster the first two games (as well as Festival of Blood)! They were some of the best games on the PS3!

Is the animation low fps or is my phone fucked up? I'm honestly asking
It seems like it's just the art style because it appears to only be the actual characters and creatures. I think it's attempting to imitate a kind of stop motion look similar to what the Spider-Verse movies did.

I really enjoyed pretty much all of the DCEU movies aside from WW1984, but I can also very much understand why some didn't like them as well.

Their pacing also was fast but also slow as hell. After MoS they pretty much released nothing until BvS over 3 years later. Then WW 2 years later. Followed by the JL movie.
I do want to point out how wrong this statement is though. They're right about the first part since Man of Steel released in 2013 and BvS released in 2016, but then Suicide Squad released just like five months later in 2016 while both Wonder Woman and Justice League released in 2017. And every year after 2017, the DCEU was releasing at least one or two movies per year.

I'm not quite sure what Trump is doing exactly that the Democrats wouldn't also be doing if they'd won, and in fact already had been doing for the last 15 months. The only difference is the Democrats are more sneaky about it and gaslight you with PR spin and self-righteous proclamations about their commitment to human rights and international law and blah blah, all while continuing to do genocide anyway. At least Trump just says the quiet part out loud without all the duplicity and deception so that there can be no mistake about his intentions. It sure is refreshing to hear a US President openly admit to genocide and ethnic cleansing for once.
So let me get this straight. The Democrats are able to disguise any negative actions or goals from the general public by an amazing stunt of PR acrobatics but are completely unable to use that same sort of PR spin to drum up support or positive coverage about the positive actions and goals they take even if they need that public support in order to maintain a hold on the levers of power?

I thought Shinra felt the promised land is where Jenova came from and it makes sense that Jenova and Yu Yevon are related in some way.
The promised land was Cetra lore that Shinra was trying to interpret in a way to make more profits. Shinra thought the promised land was a physical placer where they could find endless supplies of Mako, and in a way, that's not wrong since Mako and Materia come from the Lifestream.

The charitable interpretation here is that Spira is the "promised land."
I don't think so. I think the "promised land" that was spoken of in FFVII is the Lifestream since the Cetra (and a few other people) are able to maintain their individuality in the Lifestream and can live on beyond death.
