Too late

In a written statement, Donald Trump campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavett claimed that exception would give a green light to child traffickers and sex traffickers while reiterating the former presidents rallying cry that the border invasion and migrant crime will not stop until Crooked Joe Biden is deported from the White House.

Republican lawmakers are slamming the move as too little, too late.

(Biden) created a crisis at the border intentionally, said Sen. Kevin Cramer . R-ND. (The executive action) has more political risk than political benefit, particularly because his own base is going to reject it.

Capping legal crossings at 2500 per day.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/white-house/biden-signs-executive-order-shutting-southern-border-rcna155426

Facing mounting political pressure over the migrant influx at the U.S. southern border, President Joe Biden on Tuesday signed an executive order that will temporarily shut down asylum requests once the average number of daily encounters tops 2,500 between official ports of entry, according to a senior administration official.

The shutdown would go into effect immediately since that threshold has already been met, a senior administration official said. The border would reopen only once that number falls to 1,500.

The presidents order would come under the Immigration and Nationality Act sections 212(f) and 215(a) suspending entry of noncitizens who cross the southern border into the United States unlawfully.
Senior administration officials said Tuesday in a call with reporters that individuals who cross the southern border unlawfully or without authorization will generally be ineligible for asylum, absent exceptionally compelling circumstances, unless they are accepted by the proclamation.

In 2018, the Trump administration tried to enact similar border restrictions but courts blocked them. The Biden administration now expects to defend the executive order against legal challenges.

Most hydrants weigh in the 500-800 pound range, and are made of cast iron.

The current scrap price for cast iron is about 12 cents a pound, or $240 per TON.

That seems like a lot of work for a few hundred bucks.

I've been on a "health journey" for about 2 years now after falling off a bit from my last one, and sometimes I find myself doing that.

I'll be at the gym and look at someone that has a similar frame as me, looks to be around my age, but is in much better "visual shape" than I am and I can feel the jealousy seep in.

But then I remind myself that there's a chance that person has been working towards looking like that for decades compared to my 2 year journey.

I then think there's a good chance that someone is looking at me and thinking "Man, if I can just get to where HE is, then I'll be satisfied".

You're fitness journey is yours and yours alone. Don't compare it to someone else's.

I have a few, all for different reasons.

Most recent one was an all-inclusive, 21 and over, resort in Mexico with my wife. No worrying about ever having to take out my wallet. No kids being loud by the pool. Just a relaxing 5 days in the sun.

But there was also the weeklong ballpark trip I took with my buddy about 20 years ago. Went from NY to Philly to Pittsburgh to Cleveland to Detroit to Toronto to Cooperstown to Boston. Saw 7 games in 8 days.

First thing I would do is pay off my mortgage in full and what little CC debt I have. I currently owe around $109K between all cards and mortgage.

So now I'm at $561K.

Then it depends on how close of a friend it is. My very best friend, I probably give him half. All my other friends I kinda have on the same level. I'd probably give them $50K.

you could've asked her if the waiting time bothered her. could've been discussed. but after 27 years, if you can read her mind, maybe you think it's not worth it or something idk
It was originally her idea to go in the morning because, prior to last Thursday, she was going in the morning.

I guess I couldve explained it better, and possibly addressed it that first time.

So

Ive been going to the gym pretty regularly for the past 2 years, to the point where I have a pretty good routine down.

Leave my house at a certain time, know what machines I hit on which days, how long Ill be there, etc.

Wife decided to join the same gym last month. Was going in the morning (I go at night).

Last week she missed the morning and asked if she can go with me at night. No problem. UNTIL. She was done WAY before I was and, while she didnt say it, I could tell she was annoyed at how long I was there after she had finished (after being together 27+ years, I can tell).

Today she asked again and I told her to take her own car because, and I quote certain days I know Im there for a lot longer than you are and I dont want you waiting around when you can be home, showered and relaxed by the time Im done.

She just hit me with a forget it and now Im in the gym parking lot alone typing this out because she changed her mind and will just go in the morning.

Was I in the wrong here?

Hard to find many long running shows that DON't fall into this really...just look at how much the Simpsons and Family guy's cast have devolved into total monsters.

Hell its not just sitcoms...look at shows like Pokemon and Dragon Ball were the main leads devolve into parody's of themselves because they can't ever progress.

It was the main issue I had with shows like Weeds, Breaking Bad, and Ozark, who I always lump together because they all have very similar story arcs.

I enjoyed all three of them, but the shows got more and more successful they had to constantly double down on how "big" the issues got and how "deep" they got into their individual schemes.

How are the characters not likeable? Yes sometimes a character does something horrible but if you were ever part of mixed gender friend group then you'd know that shit happens sometimes. Nobody is perfect, it's about still having each others backs going through life.

My main gripe of the show, and was probably a product of it's success and them constantly having to top themselves, is that the characters became caricatures of themselves about halfway through it's run.

Show had it's initial success because they were all relatable characters with novel quirks

Ross was socially awkward
Rachel was the spoiled rich kid
Monica was the perfectionist
Chandler the witty jokester
Phoebe was naively eccentric
Joey was the loveable dope

They they had to continually double down on their behavior as the show continued until it became:

Ross the babbling neurotic
Rachel the complete narcissist
Monica the OCD Crackpot
Chandler the helpless man child
Phoebe the flaky dingbat
Joey the Clueless Idiot

Now, many shows fall victim to constantly having to top the season before it, especially in sitcoms. Big Bang fell into the same pitfall. But it became borderline unwatchable for me by season 5/6.

And there's a very large contingent of people that say Jim and Pam are the most unlikeable a diabolical couple in comedy history.

But, admittedly, most if not all of this current bias is revisionist history. A show doesn't become one of the most famous sitcoms of all time from "everybody" hating it.

I don't know it "like" is the right term, I just appreciated the fact that Seinfeld (the show) didn't try to hide the fact that the characters weren't great people. They never openly SAY they're bad people, and the audience never treated them like "Sweethearts" like they did on Friends.

Kinda like the characters in It's Always Sunny.

Like, Ross is an absolute psychopath, but he gets with his childhood crush at the end (who he cheated on after YEARS of pining over her, because that's normal behavior) and we're just supposed to be like "Awwwww"

You're still upset that people don't think police unions deserve the benefit of the doubt, aren't you?

Many unions cover up abuses of power. Many of them just go un noticed becasue it doesn't really affect the public.

I have a few "friends of friends" (they're actually friends with my BiL) that work for Verizon and are in a union, and the the stores they tell of the shit they get away with but the union protects them would make your head spin. But for the most part, the average consumer doesn't get affected by what they do, so no one cares.

It wasn't about the police union specifically, as I mentioned government workers as well, and I am very pro-union, especially for teachers, and blue collar jobs like electricians and the like, but let's no pretend that they are all without their warts.

Literally every main cast member either cheated, or in the case of Rachel, slept with a married man.

So, yest, they all are PoS. At least the characters on Seinfeld readily admit that they're PoS. It was the point of the show. Larry David himself said the point was that none of them never learn anything from their shortcomings.

Any person who body shames another (MTG) is absolutely open to the same happening to them. But you go defend her as she body shames others. Good look.

Doesn't this fall under the "Two wrongs don't make a right", "Don't stoop to their level", "When they go low, we go high" and all those other cliches?

Or is it as long as I can convince you that the person I'm body shaming is a bad person and it all of a sudden becomes OK?

From the neck down, she looks much better than the average 50 year old.

Her personally is absolutely abhorrent, but from the neck down probably would.
