Just went out to eat with the family, party of 7. I'm perfectly fine with the 20% service fee/tip but I feel adding taxes on top of that should be illegal. The total bill came out to a nice round number so it was easy to spot. We mentioned it to the restaurant but they said it was a system issue and can not adjust it. They offered to take down our number and issue a refund later which we know probably would've never happened.

OK. Reading this, it may a situation where the restaurant adds 20% tip to any party 6 or over, and its not really a service fee.

Was this dine in, take out, or delivery?

In a less fucked up society, something like multiple felony convictions would have a much greater impact. But clearly Republicans today have no real respect for rule of law, just like how they showed in 2016 that they have no respect for traditional Christian values. I'm actually afraid of how much this gap could shrink in the next 5 months as this becomes a more distant memory in our goldfish lives.

Saying that voting is rigged is simply a talking point. This may be anecdotal, but I don't know a single Republican, either online or in my everyday life, that has said they are staying home because the vote is rigged.

I live in New York and there's Republicans at my job that even think he has a chance of winning New York.

His base is stronger than it's ever been, and whatever base Biden has/had isn't nearly as rabid.

I don't know if he has. Polls are whatever, but a good number of them have it closer now than they did in 2020, and Biden won by the slimmest of margins thanks to 3-4 states flipping by a few thousand votes.

Yeah, Biden won by 60 something Electoral Votes, but really only won by about 65,000 votes.

As has NYC. There are very few "free" options to get onto Manhattan Island (Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge, Williamsburg Bridge, Queensboro Bridge). But they are kinda off the beaten path for most commuters.

I'm talking about turning the 495 into the Jersey Turnpike, where you pay a toll depending on how many exits you travel.

A few things from my very amateur experiences of working out/exercising/getting "healthy"

1. Consistency is key. Even a low impact workout is better than no workout. If you can only get a half hour in instead of your normal 2 hours, so be it.
2. When it comes to your weight, worry more about how you look/how your clothes fit than the actual number. My weight has fluctuated anywhere between 305 and 185 in the last 16 years, and I'll tell you, people said I looked unhealthy more at 185 than at 305.

Other than that, constantly remind yourself that you're not on a "diet". You're just changing some habits to make yourself a better person.

It had already passed, and to the extent that it is radioactive it is largely so among people who cannot vote for governor because they are residents of New Jersey.

It can sway people that it won't even affect, in the sense of "what will they charge ME for if this ends up working?"

For example, people that live on Long Island and work on Long Island. The thought can enter your head that "If this works, what's stopping them from putting on the LI Expressway to reduce traffic and get more people to take the train?"

Most concerts I take the train into NYC, and Im with friends or my wife, so were usually talking and drinking on the train and not listening to music.

But the times is DO drive to a show, Ill usually listen to the music genre of the artist Im going to see, but not necessarily their playlist

If I read the article correctly, it's basically just a ploy to be able to reject people requesting access to early/mail-in voting and making it near impossible for groups to organize new voter registration events.

You don't know how long it took him to get up to that point. As a novice lifter I've learned not to compare myself to others since we all have different goals, genetics, etc. I'm sure someone may think what your lifting seems like a lot!

I've been on a "health journey" for about 2 years now after falling off a bit from my last one, and sometimes I find myself doing that.

I'll be at the gym and look at someone that has a similar frame as me, looks to be around my age, but is in much better "visual shape" than I am and I can feel the jealousy seep in.

But then I remind myself that there's a chance that person has been working towards looking like that for decades compared to my 2 year journey.

I then think there's a good chance that someone is looking at me and thinking "Man, if I can just get to where HE is, then I'll be satisfied".

You're fitness journey is yours and yours alone. Don't compare it to someone else's.
