You're missing the point that it's just my personal opinion that Ultimate's roster size is too unwieldy and past the ideal size, has nothing to do with whether or not it's actually a good idea to downsize the roster or anything like that, it's silly to think that I haven't thought through the practical implications of cutting characters from Ultimate

That's not to say it isn't cool to get Rosalina and Ridley and even silly stuff like Wii Fit Trainer in further installments, but by the time we got all of Ultimate's DLC the roster kinda started to look like a 12-year-old listing every character he could think of. Brawl's roster felt so much more concise.

I do kinda sorta agree with this? I think there's a few essentials in 4/Ultimate (Villager, Mega Man, Simon Belmont - I know the latter two are third party but they're so quintessentially Nintendo that they don't feel like guest characters to me whereas Sonic/Snake do) but for the most part Brawl has all the A-listers and B-listers covered and doesn't feel like it's stretching itself to come up with ideas. I actually do genuinely think Ultimate's roster is teetering on the edge of being too big - otherwise cool characters get completely lost in the shuffle which is not how I felt in Brawl.

Presentation DOES matter, I think! That's kind of the point.

Yeah I'd also say ZTD is not a visual novel, mainly because you don't do that much reading, it's a different story format. Has nothing to do with the puzzles/gameplay

You may disappointed to find out Mad About the Toy is ALSO about gay people, and it aired in 2019. I just watched it, it kinda sucks, too. I definitely wouldn't have considered it award-winning.

Treehouse of Horror XXXIII is pretty fantastic, though. But Trash of the Titans gets my vote.

To be clear, I don't think Homer's Phobia is a bad episode, it's just not my favorite to watch

i didn't mean that i thought there was literally no reason given in the plot, when i said "is there a reason for it" i meant, like, why is it part of the writer's vision for the game, how does it contribute to the story beyond just giving her a new character quirk

Oh, well, Homer vs. Lisa and the 8th Commandment WOULD have been my vote, so I guess I'll vote for the only golden age-era episode on the list that isn't about attitudes towards gays in the 90's

For me she was (and still is) my favorite assistant, so seeing her go from positive and excited about the future to depressed about her shitty job definitely hurt the character.

That... is kinda exactly what makes her seem like a well-written and relatable character to me though lol

I decided to go GAA1 over LvW for worst since LvW's best case (3) is better than GAA1's best case (also 3) and... I dunno, there's something about GAA1 overall that I find annoying, like its characters and writing are great but the fact that it's all left to be a setup for GAA2 kinda sucks, and the conclusion in GAA2 felt kinda rushed so the long setup barely even feels justified. I really hate G1-4. I also don't care for LvW's conclusion much, it's overlong and it's a Layton plot, but whatever, I'll take LvW over GAA1 narrowly.

3 > 6 > 2 > 1 >>> GAA2 > AAI2 >>> 5 >>> LvW > GAA1 > AAI1 >>> 4

Yeah I guess that ranking feels about right. I dunno, I can go in almost any order on those last three that are above 4.
