I think CE is the only place in the whole website where we can talk about politics.

One of Toast's experiments to boost engagement must be releasing new, confusing, and poorly documented rules that get inconsistently enforced to the point where nobody knows what they can say where. I don't know how this is going to lead to growth, but I'm also not an entry-level community manager in a giant soulless corporation that throws nobodys at websites they're planning on dismantling because all they want is the data and the guides and not the people, so who am I to say if this is the right approach or not.

The other problem is since it tastes good, unlike a good majority of other larger caffeine sources, it's easier to drink quickly, unlike, say, coffee, where you're more likely to sip it over time.

EDIT: Similarly, with coffee or typical energy drinks, you need to have more than one to hit that much, whereas with the lemonade, it's easier to think "This is just one drink."

This too. That's the issue 4loko had: it had way more alcohol than the taste made obvious so people were pounding them down the way they wouldn't with hard liquor.

The problem is the large charged lemonade has the maximum amount of daily caffeine considered "safe". So if the teen also had a coffee earlier or a large soda at the movies they're entering dangerous levels of caffeine without even realizing it.

It likely wasn't just the lemonade but it's a problem that people aren't told the lemonade needs to be literally all the caffeine they ingest that day or they risk problems.

Because the SA-X was meant to be a horror moment and a chase sequence, whereas the EMMI quickly became an annoying and repetitive battle arena fight that railroaded you into playing a very specific way or face a one hit kill.

If there was only one of them in dread it would have been a cool fight. By the end of the game I was sick of them.

I want to like MultiVersus but I hate how hard it is to unlock new characters unless you pay for them. It really kills the idea of a crossover roster fighting game if you can't afford to play as any character that isn't on the free rotation for the week.

That's just the free to play model. League of Legends works the same way. The alternative would be them selling it for $60 and then you spending $20 per season pass to unlock four characters and some outfits each year, whether you like the characters or not.

The problem with the xenomorph is that studios are afraid to let it be what it was designed to be. It's an invasive species that absorbs the DNA of its victims and takes on new forms as part of that. The problem is the original alien design became so iconic that now the very species whose defining trait is morphing is locked into like three forms.

If you haven't worked a muscle group out in a while you probably should derack and have at least one or two sessions where you work your way back up to your old weight. It'll help avoid those days after when you feel like you've been hit by a car and it's a practice you should get into a habit of doing anyway as you get older to prevent injury.

The vast vast majority of games just have cosmetics and the ability to buy, like, ingame money and xp boosts. I really don't know why people have a bug up their ass about them so much.

The problem with selling things like XP boosts is that the game is then designed to make it so that you would need XP boosts. It makes games that are a little too grindy because they want people to be annoyed enough that they would spend money to make it easier, when it was always within their control to just make leveling up easier so you don't need to sell boosts.

Cosmetics may alter the look of a game, but anything that you can buy in a cash shop that impacts the core mechanics of the game are inherently going to be a problem because they are in direct competition against good game design philosophy.

I mean this happens a lot in gaming and speed-running.

It's super rare for the guy who made the route to be the best at executing it.

There are entire speedrunners who can't compete on the leaderboards but are super skilled at breaking games for others

Sure, but most speedrunning WRs don't go viral and let you meet the game's creator and go on a press tour, so the frequency with which it happens doesn't necessarily negate the sting, especially since this WASN'T a guy who could only break the game, but a WR contender actively pushing for a record he was realistically only a few days/weeks away from achieving.

I legitimately felt bad when the video got to the part about Fractal losing out on a world's first he realistically deserved to Scooti. After YEARS of theorycrafting and grinding, he gets to watch as someone who wasn't even on anyone's radar a few weeks prior gets to meet the creator of tetris and go on a media tour while Fractal got... nothing. Not to downplay Scooti's skill, but that's still a pretty devastating thing to miss out on.

If someone thought for one minute and actually planned out a trilogy, we would not have faced this disaster.

Lucas winged the originals but at least he had a cohesive story to tell.

Abrams had a three movie treatment, even after they brought on Johnson. Daisy Ridley even said in an interview that Abrams came to the second movie with a whole bunch of notes and things he wanted Johnson to carry forward so that the third movie plot would make sense, and by her own words Johnson chose to use literally none of it. It's even worse than nobody trying to plan out all three movies. It was actively sabotaged.

Ukraine's endgame is a restoration of their territory including crimea.

Realistically, this probably concludes with Russia keeping some portion of the land they've taken. The question is going to be whether Ukraine can push Russia back enough that they restore access to most of their Coast or whether Russia ends up keeping their land bridge to crimea, which functionally turns Ukraine into an almost landlocked state with a significant chunk of their fertile land and natural resources now in Russian territory. That's how Russia has done it literally every other time they've done this in the last 100 years and I don't see any compelling reason to think it'll end any differently this time.
