Yes but that's typically for the grunt work. The animation is still directed by the local team, they're not completely hands off.

This is Netflix trying to get more bespoke content for their "anime" category so they pay East Asian studios to handle the entire animation side and put their names front and center.

Or maybe they're more hands on than I realize and it's all a smokeshow to cosplay western animation as anime.

I don't like this Netflix thing where the show is written and voice acted in English but the animation is directed in Japan.

They seem to be universally terrible and they're doing it for this new LotR film as well.

Other than that I enjoy both anime and cartoons. My favourite shows are the ones with teenage girls showing their midriff.

I've known people who had multiple. One guy had 3 (one for him, one for his wife, one for his television). But it also sounded like he just collected game consoles and had a ton stored at his place.

It has a long history predating the internet, but it basically is defined as a fascination with anthropomorphized animals. People with a shared interest gravitated together. There are lots of stories featuring anthropomorphized animals, created by non furries and furries alike.

So the main way of engaging with furry characters and the furry community was through artwork and storytelling. It became more and more common for individuals to craft their own unique furry characters, and create art work and stories about them. The experience became collaborative. People started to meet up and have conventions where they would share and sell their work. And of course the biggest furries started to create costumes of their characters. And then the raw dogging starts.

It has a big crossover with other subcultures like homosexuals, writers, artists, cosplayers and fans of animation. So that all gets jumbled together as well. It's not exclusively sexual but that's become a big part of it.

I prefer...idk how to put it, simulated open worlds? The main examples I can think of are new God of War and Metroid (which aren't really all that similar). Where it's essentially a series of linear encounters assembled in such a way to feel more non-linear than it is.

The main problem I have with true sandboxes is I never feel they have enough to justify their sandyness, and I don't find it fulfilling to fuck around.

Sure I can build a robot to fight enemies in Tears of the Kingdom, but why would I? It's a significant effort for zero in game reward or benefit. I like making progress in a game, and in open worlds that often boils down to checking off lists.

Is Tetris linear or open world?

If I need food I can take five minutes to go to a fast food restaurant and know exactly what I'm going to get. Or I can spend some uncertain amount of time (5 to 30 minutes) waiting for food at a local place, that I may end up hating.

I'm not saying that's good, but I think that's how a lot of people see it.

To be honest I'm in shock at how many restaurants are still in business. I never eat out and grab a snack from a fast food place maybe every week or two.

The allegory is becoming more and more common though. You can't look at something like Bright and claim the orcs are just orcs, without removing a couple brain slices first.

And there's nothing wrong with that, it just requires more work to get right than most authors are willing to do.

As a recent counter example, Delicious in Dungeon places a lot of emphasis on the differences and conflicts between races, without drawing a direct allegory to real life.

But something like Harry Potter did draw more direct allegories that the author discussed outside her books as well. She just didn't put much thought into it.

There's a few weird trends in Rowling's writings that you overlook as a kid. I know she likes to put a lot of emphasis on how fat certain characters are.

Anyway a lot of fantasy racism arguably misses the point on racism by creating clear biological and historical logic justifying the racism, thereby killing the metaphor. While in reality a lot of effort was put into creating pseudo-scientific or pseudo-historical justifications for racism after the fact.
