It makes him kind of one note, he's going to be robbing a place with a freeze gun to try and save his wife, I don't know that there's much you can do there to vary it. Even TAS struggled to give him a good storyline after Heart of Ice, never really managing it until Batman Beyond. HoI, funnily enough, did not include Nora being frozen, that was the sequel episode which involved this weird Walt Disney-esque villain. As I type this, I wonder if Freeze would be easier to write if Nora had stayed dead. It makes his motivation a little murkier, but maybe that would have been to his benefit since it could be interpreted in different ways. Didnt they also kind of ruin his story in like some versions of the character with how Nora is? --- "He may be Mr. Clean, but his soul will always be dirty!"

Funny, on the FF7R boards they generally blame Kingdom Hearts for any convoluted stuff brought into those games. Which is kind of code word for not wanting to play games to understand the story because reasons. I like them for the fanservice-y aspects of them, but since they hardly ever tie into the main plot beyond some thematic overlays and such there's not really much to discuss about them when discussing the series' story as a whole. Like, I liked KH3's Disney worlds for the most part as I was playing it just as fun places to dick around in. But they were wholly irrelevant to the main story, and thus ended up feeling like a waste of time if you think about them from that perspective. I think after like the 3rd or 4th world I was getting frustrated at how little the plot had even progressed. KH1 handled things the best by actually tying the Disney worlds into the main plot and the characters' arcs. By this point, I don't think anyone expects much from the Disney worlds beyond the cameo crossover fanservice aspects. Id argue a big part of that problem after KH1 is they used a lot of the more iconic villains and with the exception to like three or four of them most get wiped out completely. --- "He may be Mr. Clean, but his soul will always be dirty!"
