Hey folks, I'm starting up another website (hopefully to be absorbed into SB Nation in the future) dedicated to sports gaming - Madden, UFC, FIFA, all of that good stuff. Problem is - I'm really bad at names. Like ridiculously bad at names. My music site, Out Of Treble, got it's name from a friend on Facebook who suggested it after about thirty seconds of thought. I couldn't think of one for three months.
So .. any cleverish names for a sports gaming website? Halp plz. (also if anybody is particularly interested in contributing quality, G-News-worthy and potentially sponsored content, let me know). -- Digi Whiteboards are remarkable. |

DigitalIncision 04/20/12 6:34:00 AM #31 | From: tereziWright | #029 The Brainwavs produce a much more accurate sound and have a heavier punch to the bass. They're much clearer, too. Isolation may be better in yours, though. From: JonPen1416 | #028 You stand to benefit A LOT. I'd say right up to about $350-$400, your iPhone and standard laptop can still produce well as source material for most headphones in that range. The key is to look at the ohms that a headphone requires ... the problem with iPhones and laptops is that they typically don't have enough power to drive some of the better sets (Especially in the $500+ range), resulting in jagged or broken sound. They'll still sound phenomenal, for the most part, but you're getting wasted potential in that range. You'll probably hit the sweet spot at around $250ish if an iPhone is your normal source material. That's the main point - the iPhone is the biggest deterrent here, not the 320K mp3 files. The jump from a headphone in the $20-$80 range to $250ish is drastic. It's mind-blowing to those unfamiliar with just how great audio can sound. Funnily enough, the jump from $600 to $1600 is smaller than that jump. From: edwardsdv | #024 Well with these, you shouldn't worry about it too much ... outside of that, a hard plastic or metal shell case would be good. For instance, here's a picture of the Ultimate Ears TripleFi - earbuds that will run you $200+ with an MSRP in the $400 range ... they come with a great case and it's not prohibitively large: ![]() -- Digi And then God created Saturn, and he liked it, so he put a ring on it. |

As a heads up: the Betas have a burn-in to them. If you don't know what that means ... essentially, the earbuds will really sound much better after about 20ish hours of burn-in time. They sound great out of the box but as the whole thing flexes here and there, etc, they get to reach their optimal sound at about 40 hours of listening.

DigitalIncision 04/19/12 2:04:00 PM #13 | From: Psycho_Kenshin | #011 Yeah, they shipped from like 50 miles away for me lol. Yeah, it comes with one set of the Comply S series - which I actually love. I probably have like 15 different sets of Comply tips. The problem you generally get with comply tips that come bundled with your earbuds is there's a chance they had a lot of time to sit around and degrade. Mine don't look like that at all, though. You're out of luck if you have extremely large ears, but they should fit nicely otherwise. If you're asking how Comply are in general, I love them - sometimes they take a bit to get used to, but eventually seal like none other. Clean your ears though :] if you have disgusting ears they'll degrade pretty fast. If you're asking about these ones in particular, they seem par the course. -- Digi I wont rest until Ive found a cure for insomnia. |

just posting this as a heads up .. amazon has the Beta Brainwavz on sale for $13.
