Oh man. I'm super pleased with the earbuds from that last sale you linked. Not sure if I should be spending another $28 right away though, especially when I'm not much of an audiophile.
Do keep in mind that the other ones I linked, the Betas, have an MSRP of like $30. The MSRP for these is $89 and they're only $15 more than the Betas with this sale.
I re-installed Chrome and, like an idiot, didn't save my preferences. I only ignore two people on the board so I'd love for that ignore message to be gone. Somebody on this board had me open up a page in my Chrome's appdata folder (perhaps the gamechrome stuff) and add in a line or two of css or something similar. The first time it messed up quoting, but the second time it successfully removed that message and I'm wondering if anybody knows what that is.
First off, these earbuds, usually around $70, and well worth that price, are on sale for $28. I posted here a couple months ago about the lower model, the Brainwavz Beta, that were on sale for $13. These are worth the full price and definitely the sale price so just a heads up from your resident audiophile that you won't get better earbuds for the price.
Also of note is the fact that the dean of city college is plotting war.
As a side note, I want to ask some people, they note that Starburns is alive ... and now the talk is of him leaving the show. Assuming that means that won't be pursued at all?
From: OmarsComin | #017 alright I think I've got a mostly more elegant solution
new folder in desktop transcode everything to AAC 256 with foobar, targeted at that folder go to sleep wake up, sync with iphone through itunes delete itunes
so with that I've got a hands off approach to making my library compatible with the iphone and still get to keep the original files in the format I want them in
downside to this is that I still can't sync new music I get without reinstalling itunes but whatever, I'll cross that bridge later.
Why AAC 256? Go to MP3 V0. iTunes can read that fine. Just because iTunes sells you AAC doesn't mean you actually need to use it to use the program.
And yeah, I hope you're using good headphones and a good source/amp if you're using FLAC.
iTunes is one of the worst programs you could possible use. Also, Spotify does not stream in high quality audio, nor is all of their "highest quality" offerings properly sourced. But it's still a great service, I just hate it when that phrase is thrown around! Personally, I subscribe to both Spotify and Rdio and am not sure which I like more. Spotify has more selection, but Rdio's app kills it in every way.

Digi I plan on being more spontaneous in the future.
You don't get it - it's a matter of principles more than anything. They're keeping the language broad when they don't need to. They can afford themselves the write to create derivative works (ie converting documents) and ownership (ie the ability to move and replicate data to make the services work) without the language used. As the internet and our usage of it continues to grow, so will privacy policies and terms of services actually start to mean something in our everyday lives. Some folks are taking a notice sooner rather than later (though, as you said, some people are being absolutely stupid about it).
From: Silvercross | #030 This is really dumb, though.
I take it you don't use Gmail or any other Google services then? Because that TOS applies to all of them.
Anyway, I think people are overreacting here. Nothing is going to happen to your stuff. Google is never going to argue control over your stuff. Google is never going to claim ownership of your stuff.
I do use Gmail and just said twice in this topic that I love Google's service and considered this to be the only thing I don't like about Drive. I am very familiar with all of their ToS and privacy policies, as the whole internet flipped out over their new unified system. That being said, you're absolutely wrong - the ToS for Drive is much different in the wording, or rather, the specific wording that I mentioned.
That being said, I agree with you that PEOPLE are overreacting here. I'm not one of them - because I'm not flipping out or anything like that. I think it's a flaw, a flaw that's stupid and makes me not want to use the service (but I am anyway).

Digi Put some ham and pineapple on some bread earlier .. because that's Hawaii roll.
From: foolm0ron | #024 Basically they need it so they can convert your files into Google Docs format for simulatenous editing and such, and to convert it into phone/tablet/etc. versions.
They go far beyond granting themselves derivative rights with their wording.

Digi Finding things on eBay is hard. I searched for lighters... found 15,000 matches.
From: Silvercross | #023 Except they don't own anything you put into the service.
That's the key difference.
Yes, yes they do. I don't care what "clarification" there is. That doesn't change the wording of the ToS. It's there in black and white dude.
From: Silvercross | #026 I also find the notion funny that someday Google might be carelessly browsing your files, see your screenplay, and then make a movie out of it.
It's needless language and you know it. I'm not being one of those idiots who are like GOOGLE IZ TRACKIN ME AND SELLIN MAH DATA!! I love Google. I love their services. This is really dumb, though.

My biggest issue with Google Drive is the ToS, which states they own anything you upload to the service. That's unheard of for a cloud storage solution. That blows my mind.

Digi Shark swims ashore in new jersey ... wonder where he bought it.
Skydrive is a bit cheaper but I'm banking on the future integration - I'd rather use the service associated with gmail than the service associated with hotmail.

Digi I wont rest until Ive found a cure for insomnia.
From: Forceful_Dragon | #059 How soon do you anticipate getting the site off the ground and what exactly is it going to feature?
If SB Nation wants immediate integration, it'll be within two weeks. If they don't, I'll launch myself shortly after May 15. If they don't want integration, it's just because they're unsure - if I launch myself, then they'll likely go for it after seeing it in action. The extra time to launch myself would be to have my graphics and web guy get it off the ground for me - much slower than their team, obviously. The third option is if SB Nation loves the idea, wants to run with it, but wants to sit on it for awhile. If that's the case, I'll wait until they say jump because their integration is the most important thing here.
The content will chiefly be news and editorials relating to sports video games. Reviews and previews (with video content provided by me and my contributors - NOT sourced elsewhere) will be big, on top of pre-release news and screens, event coverage (think Madden Bowl and game conventions), patch information, pre-order information, downloadable content information, etc. That's the news side.
The other side would be a strong competitive community - since that's so big, there would be various leagues and tournaments, including blogger tournaments and player tournament integration, as well. We've had a lot of success in our various team blogs on SB Nation in regards to getting player interviews and even guest player bloggers, if we get the immediate or eventual SB Nation integration, then we'll immediately have a strong community base and pull with various teams and player/agents.
Also random features, like one of my contributors who loves sports but is terrible at video games, and is a very VERY funny guy recording himself getting his ass kicked online, things like that. Video should be a key component.

I'm glad people like the decision to go with Bases Loading. I'm actually more stoked now because that's such an awesome name. I think having a great name to pitch will help me get it immediately integrated into SB Nation.

Thanks a ton for the suggestions guys. And for the two who PM'd me, I'll be getting at you both in the coming days (I'm going to be swamped next couple days as I brace for NFL draft coverage at my other site)
