He mocks Cena about everything-- if that's his way of saying I don't give a damn I think it needs to be more clear than picking something out to make fun of Cena for because that's not very clear at all.

Cena:"Well at least I'm always here and you are not."

Rock:"...Well I don't really...give a damn about that. [And neither do I, for the record] And you still suck."

See if the Rock said this directly I wouldn't have a problem, but he doesn't. He mocks Cena for saying it, dances around the issue of him actually not showing up a bit, then says he loves the fans again and they forget what the point even was.

In a less dramatic example, let me go over it like this:

I was born in Brazil, but moved to Canada when I was 10. I still go there sometimes and I tell my relatives that I'm not going to abandon them and never see them again. I'm gonna be back again, and I come back to visit them sometimes. I still love them but...no, I'm not moving back there.

Yeah but one would assume the reason you don't visit often is due to money and because Brazil is a lot further away than the WWE is from the Rock at any given time.

The Rock has plenty of money and sometimes the WWE is pretty close to where he is. It's a totally different scenario as it relates to resource management.

It'd be more like what you said if your relatives lived a few hundred miles away more than half the world away. And I think if your relatives lived a few hundred miles away and you couldn't be bothered to visit a few times a year yeah you'd come off as disingenuous.

*shrug* I just can't see where you get that. Like I said flights on a plane are pretty short-- he could even schedule appearances when the show was close to Miami or the set of whatever he's filming to make it even less of a bother. I don't think a few hours of your time 6 times a year is too much to ask for someone who "genuinely loves the company." And certainly not for someone who loves the company as much as The Rock implies he does.

I don't really see the issue with that, frankly. I see it as moving to a new country. When you move to a new country, you still love your old country, but that doesn't mean you would go back. His fans can still mean A LOT to him but not enough to convince him to stay.

Sure. But the Rock doesn't come off as saying that, to me, anyway. Like when The Rock says "I meant I wasn't leaving for 7 years again" that comes off as backpedaling not what The Rock actually meant when he said. I mean, sure, maybe The Rock is just trying to say he likes the fans a lot and exaggerates by nature but to me it feels more like he's a disingenuous politician more than just getting too into it and over embellishing.

If you really like the fans alot you'd think you could spare a few hours to cut a live promo at least for the 6 times you show up on TV rather than having 2/3s of your appearances be via satellite.

Although I will say that WWE sucking Rock off every time he shows up with Cena being right is the only reason this storyline even works at all. If Cena sold his point harder on TV either people start to buy into it and The Rock becomes the heel (which is a lot less interesting) or they turn on Cena prematurely which makes him turning on them less meaningful.

Of course this is all moot if Cena rises above the hate, but at least we have potential for a good storyline

Again, Haguile, it's not that Rock left, it's that Rock left yet still projects the image that the fans are his everything and such. That's what Cena's calling him out on and he's completely right on that.

Cena's message is good if only because of the message The Rock projects.

"I will never leave you again" and loving the millions of fans and such. If he really loved the fans that much and really didn't want to ever leave them again he could totally do that. Instead he shows up once and gives a small handful of promos via satellite.

It'd be different if The Rock wasn't sucking up to the fans. It's not so much The Rock is a bad person for not showing up it's he's a bad person because he comes off as a hypocrite rather than telling things as they are. There's also something... I don't know the word.... condescending?... in my eyes about caring "enough" to make some video packages but not enough to actually show up and cut a promo for the fans (that you supposedly love). I mean it's not like it takes too long to take a flight to a show once in a while, but the fans he loves so much aren't worth a few hours of his time-- just 20-25 minutes to shoot a promo.

Impact has been the best show of the week or at least in strong contention for it for a while now. Though usually it's the fault of the other shows more than the merit of Impact.

Although I will say that I think with the high playrate of P4 on b8 combined with part of b8's tendency to anti-vote FF7 related things the difference in playrate matters a lot less than it would when you consider the absolute playrates of each game.

In order of best to worst

Good winners:

FFX
RE4

I don't know what this is but I give it the benefit of a doubt based on what I've heard:

Persona 4

B8 overrates the hell out of these so I'd rather not see them win, despite being good games:

SMW
Phoenix Wright
FFIX
SSBM
Pokemon RBY

I will say at least there are no bad winners left. SMW and PW are borderline between the good and overrated category but I'd rather see P4 win than either one

Also I should note that I actually like FF9 but it's just... a lot of people on this board have it as the best FF game and I can't say it even comes close to that. It's a game that this board sours me on to the point where I'm probably going to be voting Persona 4 next round despite liking FF9.

Uhh I mean Social Links go P4

Maybe I should actually play my P4 game I have just to be sure P4 doesn't also have this problem.

I'd be shocked if FF7 beat any FF game with strength head to head, especially in the tournament where upset mongering is in full strength and people have a better reason to anti-vote it, being a former finalist (winner?)

Maybe past results shut me up on this one though

From a sheer quality perspective it was better than last week's Smackdown at least. Had more questionable story/gimmick directions but the raw quality of the show wasn't terrible-- main event was good and Cody/Sheamus was good (though I'd agree that dousing Cody with that + the Khali runoff was kinda silly)

If the Vegan thing is like a one time thing it's fine

Otherwise it's terrible. Your world champion should not be fishing for cheap heat like that as their gimmick. If CM Punk was world champion when he was doing the SES I'd have been annoyed too-- and this is like diet diet Straight Edge Society territory here.

I don't even mind Khali in the chamber. <_< A many person match like that is the type of match where Khali excels, because him slowing down won't drag the match down but you still get THE BRAIN CHOP~

My biggest problem with Ziggs is his ult indicator isn't flashy enough. It's like gangplank but without the ridiculous sound effect at the beginning. Really needs a ridiculous sound effect to accompany it or a longer delay or both-- most of the time by the time I realize it's coming it's already too late to dodge.

Dawn of Souls is fun for the optional dungeons/bosses (some of them are fairly difficult) and better class balancing. Butchering the difficulty otherwise isn't cool but if you're a big ff fan difficulty probably isn't your primary objective anyway.
