Yeah I'm just arguing because I think that Wang is closer to right than you are. You remove Vickie and I think they (Swagger especially) fall off the map sooner than they become established! The problem is that Vickie is a great manager but only as a manager. She's not being used as a manager right now probably cause WWE has forgotten how managers even work.

Lopen 03/20/12 6:16:00 PM #19 | From: TheRock1525 | #016 I disagree with this. The reason the audience doesn't hate them is because 1. Vickie gets the majority of the mic time and 2. They have a natural charisma. So any hate to the unit gravitates towards Vickie. Thing is a lot of fan reaction is based entirely on the existing reaction. Like uh, The Rock for instance wouldn't be able to mold crowds with what he's doing if he was just a midcarder in the nation of domination-- it's clear his mic work isn't up to snuff with the stuff that got him to the top in the first place. Same thing with CM Punk and mid last year vs CM Punk now. It's the same with Vickie. A lot of the reason people hate Vickie is because she's established herself as very hateable. Dolph and Swagger haven't really done that due to being overwhelmed by Vickie so yeah they don't have that base to work with. Basically to get to the point where the audience hates them they need a little push in the right direction and to just not screw it up for a few months or they need to cut some amazing promos to really make them hated and not screw it up terribly later. -- No problem! Well the thing is Dolph and Swagger don't have control of the interviews right now so their hate is all directed at Vickie.
That doesn't mean it has anything to do with Vickie's presence there. Suddenly removing her isn't going to change the fact that they're having trouble getting a reaction. But it has nothing to do with their ability on the mic either it has everything to do with the audience just not hating them right now. Your two options to fix that are: 1. Cut off Vickie and let the two of them limp around for a while 2. Leave Vickie there but only for the cheap EXCUSE ME and then let them run with the mic for the rest of the segment repeatedly I think option 1 is better for testing the two of em, where option 2 is actually better for making the audience hate them more efficiently in the long run (and making the segments in between better). -- No problem! The only difference there is in how much you're testing Dolph, really, which can easily be done by just having Vickie put out for a few weeks if you want to do that. But Dolph will still get most of the heat if he actually has control of the interview, no matter if Vickie warmed them up or not. The audience won't remember Vickie in the end if Dolph does his job well.

In either case you have to give Dolph a chance to run. You can say Vickie's a cheap life preserver, which she is, but if you drop Vickie there's nothing saying that Dolph doesn't also just stop getting mic time entirely, either. Dropping Vickie and giving Dolph a chance to run some mic segments or keeping Vickie and giving Dolph a chance to run some mic segments is the same thing pretty much. It's not about Vickie.

Well I'm pretty sure Guilty Gear still has exposure in all the major tournaments-- it's just not streamed often so you only know it if you're actually there or actively looking for it. It was at last year's Evo, at least.
But anyway, main point is that SSF2 still having tournaments is a byproduct of #1 being from an era where it was the only good fighter #2 being a capcom game and then a distant #3 its actual quality. Exposure trumps quality in any sort of tournament scene-- this is the main reason why Brawl and Melee are so popular as well. I mean, it's still a good game I'm not saying it's unplayable or anything but it's definitely outclassed by all of those games Wang mentioned aside from KoF 94. -- No problem! Oh and yeah I have pretty strong evidence that lol angles does in fact hurt your overall rating, just to confirm. I used Arnold Schwarzenegger's Running Man Pro Wrestling and held the exact same card 3 times in a row, the only difference being having a poorly rated angle in the postshow to get lol angles on the second one. Got 62, 58, 61 as the show ratings. The main event rated at 62 each time (Arnold d. Ron Simmons for everyone keeping score at home) and the undercard didn't vary all that much so yeah I'm pretty sure it knocks your show's rating down 3-4 points or so.
I also did a few similar cards and tried to get the Arnold overused note. Didn't seem to make much of a difference-- might have hurt his popularity slightly but I don't think so. However I would guess that might be the effect of that note and it's just not too harsh unless you get heavily overused. I know Arnold's pop has randomly dropped from 89 to 87 in the Tri-State area over the course of a month or so (started at 80 though) but I'm not sure if that's the accumulation of many "Arnold Overused" notes or just being in angles/matches that aren't high enough quality to maintain the pop. -- No problem! Impact December Week 4 2011 SHOWTIME: The show starts with Sting, Styles, Samoa Joe, and Kurt Angle in the ring with the token contract table to sign the match for the PPV. Kurt wants a match to work off ring rust, but he wants Styles banned from ringside. Sting grants him the match with AJ being banned from ringside, but says AJ can pick someone to face Angle. AJ picks his "good friends that also represent the good of old school TNA" the Motor City Machine Guns to face Joe and Angle tonight! (93) Sting and Kendrick beat Anderson and X-Pac in a "Final Resolution preview" match that Sting made but that isn't really a preview at all (74) Robbie E is backstage looking distraught, minus Big Robbie T. Wild Stevie Ray appears! Robbie E appeals to Stevie and says he needs a new guy to enforce THE LIST that Big Robbie T went to India. Stevie Ray says times have been hard lately so he'll consider it, but suckas gotta pay for his bouncer services. Robbie E says sure he'll pay, bro, and hands him THE LIST. (42) Angelina Love and Winter d. Tara and Hamada (70) The Pope d. Robbie E in another "final resolution preview" match. Stevie Ray tries to slide Robbie E a slapjack during the match but Daffney slides in and takes it first and slapjacks Pope after the match (78) Austin Aries d. Glacier and Douglas Williams to retain. Mid match the match the announcers argue whether Glacier or Douglas Williams meet the weight limits of the X-Division and Glacier leaves the match to go stop a Matt Morgan debut video. (65) Beer Money is backstage talking, when UltraMantis Black approaches them and suggests that it must be insulting for AJ Styles to pick the MCMG to test Angle and Joe over Beer Money... they're not even the champs, after all. Roode says he's got a point, "thanks Daniels" as they head to the ring and UMB increduously denies being Daniels some more. Beer Money head to the ring and call AJ out! AJ responds to the call and says that while Sting may have banned him from facing Angle he can beat their ass. (71) AJ Styles d. Beer Money after the MCMG interfere, but is beaten down pretty badly during the match. (78) Orlando Jordan d. The Lethal Warrior. He uses a lot of chops and finishes with the Figure 4 for some reason. After the match Voodoo Priest Hernandez rushes to the ring and shakes a staff while doing a dance sorta thing and shouting "whoo!" as Orlando heads to the back, ignoring him. (64) RVD and Jeff Hardy are scheduled to face Team 3D in another inane "preview match." Jeff Hardy says the savior will not be lowered to teaming with RVD tonight. RVD starts a handicap match, but during the match Suicide swings down from the rafters and fills in as RVD's tag partner (72) RVD and Suicide d. Team 3D when Jeff Hardy gets Team 3D dqed by attacking RVD. (86) Angle and Joe trash talk AJ and say they hope he enjoys helplessly watching them dismantle his buddies the MCMG from backstage (90) Angle and Joe d. Motor City Machine Guns in an incredibly competitive match where the MCMG come up just short (99!) After the match Joe and Angle continue to beat the MCMG down. AJ Styles rushes out to help but is practically limping to the ring and is overwhelmed as well. Bah gawd can AJ overcome the odds at the PPV!? (82) 86 - Success! Lol angles. Bah.
