You could just admit your current logic was flawed knowing that it doesn't hurt your overall theory, instead of hoping you are guessing right and then pretending you knew every little detail correctly later if you are so lucky, or ignoring the whole thing if you aren't. But then you wouldn't be Tak if you did that.

But those arguments are irrelevant because the fact remains that there is no reckoning, and no defense portals!

ROSE: And it's not that there were no meteors whatsoever.
ROSE: Just the vast majority of the destructive onslaught never showed up.
ROSE: But delivering the temple to the site of the forge is still integral to jumpstarting the session.
ROSE: That meteor however could have been propelled through a portal by any means, not just via the reckoning.

Okay, first of all, we already knew Jake didn't get there the same way the Red Miles did. That wasn't the time or place they were attacking. We know nothing more than we did before.

Second, not all the portals were the in the immediate Skaian defense grid in the first place. Some occurred right where the meteors left from at The Veil.

From: Takfloyd_mkII__ | #419
Again, if the Red Miles could normally go that far Jack wouldn't even have had to leave Derse to blow up Prospit, and he could have wiped out everything in the trolls' session from where he first appeared.

Lastly, you don't understand Jack's personality at all.

I concede the fact that if it is DD's attack, it involves some details we don't know about.

And this update is just one more confirmation. The "secret" way to get to Derse from Earth is in the Frog Temple, and the Red Miles came from space, so they didn't get to Earth that way.

Yeah, too bad there is no way for things to get from a session to space so it could fall onto earth like a meteor or something. Wait...

^I thought she first started talking to the Horrorterrors after her dream self died?

We didn't know she had done so until the conversation with Jade, in which the end she revealed she had died (completely so). But she had done so before that time.

It's also from Derse that one can communicate with the Horrorterrors. That's why that stuff is always handled by the Derse Dreamers.

I think Feferi set up the dream bubbles with the Horroterrors after Prospit and Derse were destroyed.

It was definitely before Derse was destroyed, since she did it as her Dream Self from the skies of Derse. I think that's why she was also the first Dersite causality of Bec Noir.

Regarding who killed Joffrey:

(spoilers just in case, though I'm pretty sure there is no additional evidence which emerges after where you are)

A lot of people believe the Queen of Thorns actually did the deed, as she adjusts Sansa's hairnet shortly before the poisoning. She was probably colluding with Littlefinger and Dontos in order to save her granddaughter from marrying a monster. Whether other Tyrells like Margaery were in on it is uncertain.

Actually, this theory more or less flat out gets explained later in the books.

Actually, maybe not the motivation, but definitely the "who" is specified. The motivation is easy to work out from there, though.

I really liked the theory that it was Eridan's hope powers, since after Feferi and Kanaya died and Sollux got knocked out they all wound up better off for it, but after the explanation of Eridan's title literally meaning "destroyer of hope" it doesn't seem to make much sense.

How did Feferi wind up better off?

MG is still miles ahead in terms of difficulty.

Yeah but not really because of bosses.

Yeah, this. The normal game is the hard part there. The bosses are not that bad at all. There's nothing even hard about the Metal Gear if you know what to do (though if you didn't write down the pattern it is literally impossible).

I don't know if you can even lose the final battle

Oh, you very much can. Some of the phases are legitimately difficult on Extreme.

MGS3 - I don't know if its just me but I don't think I've ever died in an MGS game that much.

Besides The Boss, I honestly don't know how. I think my second most amount of deaths in that game were against The Fury, and that was mostly just forgetting that the front of the map was a pit and rolling off of it (and Subsistence put an end to that). I don't think I've died on another boss besides Volgin and maybe Ocelot once or twice the first time through. And I've never played MGS3 on less than Hard. Most of them just don't do that much damage at all.

Are you freaking kidding me? MG2's Black Color and Night Sight are probably two of the cheapest and most frustrating bosses I've ever come across. Not saying MG2 is the hardest game ever but from the series, it most definitely is.

These two may be hard, but unless you're ranking by the hardest boss in the game and not average boss difficulty, MG2 is still not that much harder than all the rest.

Wow, just no. Unless you're counting TTS as MGS1, which way dumbed down almost every boss fight but Psycho Mantis and Liquid (and maybe the Hind-D). But even then, MGS3 is not the harder than MGS2, except maybe The Boss.

Also, you're way overplaying MG2's and MG1's boss difficultly. Especially MG1. Placement for those two is still correct, though.

Who else is going to be the hardest boss on normal difficulty?

Almost every other boss in the series besides maybe Fortune (if she counts), The Pain, and Raging Raven.

I've died or was in slight danger of dying on most of bosses at least once, not counting MGS4. If The End used lethal ammo or you somehow lost all of your food the fight could be hard, but as is if you screw up you just pause, dig out the tranquilizer dart and eat some food.

What makes the harrier on European Extreme hard?

Almost every attack is a 1-hit kill, and the fly-by attacks all have multiple rockets added to them, even just the machine guns. The only thing that isn't quite a 1-hit kill as I recall was the machine gun attack where he hovers around you, and it gets cheap hits on you there all the time.

It also takes around 40 Stinger missiles.

Do the intentionally stupidly hard tank fights in Peace Walker where they gave the vehicles tons of HP and infinitely spawning waves of enemies count?

They're not infinitely spawning. I think the most you ever get is like 48, and stealthily taking out all the guards is the fastest way to get the commander to come out.

And most of those are pretty easy if you either abandon non-lethal or wait until you have the Fulton Launcher and/or Fulton Mines plus Bandana. The ones where they don't spawn from the vehicle require a bit of strategy/luck on certain maps, though.

A lot of people had left the company between 1998 and 1999, before Microsoft even started courting them. Most notably the people most responsible for Goldeneye007 formed Free Radical that made the TimeSplitters series. As I understand it, most of those people still did the a good deal of the development for Perfect Dark before leaving, which is why that one still turned out fine.

I don't know why they couldn't do decent platformers for the next generation, but I can only assume it was a similar situation.

I was confused by several of the changes from the books. What's the motivation for killing Qhorin Halfhand now? In the books he had time with Jon Snow before the wildlings got to them, and pretty explicitly laid out the plan, but unless I knew that coming in, I doubt I would understand why he did what he did.

Qhorin explained it basically to the same extent he did in the books 2 episodes ago, just very briefly and without Jon's inner monologue to accompany it. You just missed it.

because the fact that Luwin is still alive after the sack

First off, spoiler tag that paragraph before the show watchers get pissed. Second, he was still just as alive in the books. I don't see how that implies anything of the sort.
