At least with Sony this sort of thing made sense from a greed standpoint since they were (and I suppose are) still theoretically trying to sell PS2s. But as far as I know GCNs are very much no longer in production. How much money could they possibly save by doing this so late in the Wii's lifespan?

Who is your favorite MGS character, and how did they fare in your opinion?
Revolver Ocelot followed closely by Solid Snake. No complaints there. Who is your least favorite MGS character, and how did they fare in your opinion? Rose, at least out of the ones with enough screen presence to bother caring about. More accurately, I hate her around Raiden, she was okay for most of MGS4. What was the biggest surprise of the contest? Mei Ling, and conversely Meryl. Figured those two would be just about switched from where they ended up. What was the biggest disappointment of the contest? Miller going out way too early, and not being able to keep Little Gray alive longer for the lolz. If you could change anything about the contest (but not any results), what would it be? Metal Gears maybe Would you support the idea of this becoming an annual contest? Tidus is not an awesome character, except maybe by the end. He is the epitome of an average character up to that point, which I honestly believe is what they were going for. The bigger problem for most people is simply his voice.
As far as VIII goes, I still maintain that was the worst battle mechanics for any game that can be classified as the classic style JRPG. Story is more subjective, but for me it fell apart after Disc 1.
